I always try and look on the good side of places I review but here at Anglebury House I'm struggling to find going points. We popped in for a cream tea to find the decor is dated and run down. It could be called retro and shabby chic, instead it's just shabby. We ordered cream teas with a pot of... More

I so wanted to like this place and give it a good review, but I just can't! We stayed here for just one night and that was enough. The room was large enough and the bed comfortable, but the sheets were stained and other parts of the room hadn't been cleaned well. The bathroom was incredibly tiny (barely enough room... More

called in for sunday lunch yesterday and was most disappointed, The restaurant is nowhere near the standard of the photos on the website. I chose it for what looked an upmarket place to eat for a special occasion unfortunately it was anything but. The roast was inedible although 2 friends had the a la carte menu and theirs was enjoyable.... More

I spent an evening here in June. Room was very warm and musty smelling, towels were at least a few years old and bathroom quite dirty. Breakfast was ok but was charged £5 more than the advertised price, when I subsequently challenged this I was told the website was out of date!

If your after an old English type accommodation then this is the one for you. Very friendly owner ( Jane ) and staff were very helpful. The only down side was the dirty mugs we had in our room,so i went down to get new ones. The food was lovely, and like my husband the owner was nice and also... More

Although the bed was comfortable, the kettle didn't work, no soap in the dispenser, shaver light no working, no shower gel, minute TV, minute shower room. We only stayed one night, but that was enough. The charge was £70 per night but I said the maximum I was willing to pay was £50,which was accepted without question. The owners must... More

Staying near Corfe, so visited briefly for lunch. A window seat in the restaurant, which retains much of the character of the building. Polite and helpful service. A good range in the menu from traditional favourites like Ham egg and chips (my choice) to homemade pasta dishes (my wife). Served hot and fresh. Pasta was very rich and defeated my... More

Very disappointed to find this hotel very drab and dingy. The minute shower room smelt badly of sewage. Breakfast was passable. Kept being detained by a local who seemed to be some sort of handyman, a pretty undesirable character. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone else

Comfortable hotel with good food, and a friendly coffee shop and bar filled with local people who want to share the pleasures of living in the Purbecks with you.. An excellent base for touring the area. This is a 16th century hotel where the uneven floor, low beams and inglenook fireplaces remind you of days when a coach and horses... More
