Since the last change of landlord at the swan, sadly he doesn't seem to have much idea of running a pub.He can be very rude and has upset or offended many people.spends most of his time on the customers side of the bar,on the few times that the bar is busy the staff can be run ragged, he sits on... anon... Went for a meal in the swan (16th april), only to be told that they don't do evening food!!! I have never seen or heard of such a ludicrous thing in all my life! The previous owners, roger and marion served wonderful food, so why they don't anymore is beyond me! Personally i don't think they know how to... More

We stayed at this hotel as we were going to a concert at The Exchange which is only a five minute walk. The staff were very friendly. The room was fine but one word of warning whilst there is sound proofing from the outside there is noise from the bar up until 12 midnight so sleep before then is difficult.... More

We live locally and have seen this pub change hands regularly. At present , it is very poor. Monday is market day and the pub is empty! The pub waitress doesn't know her Latte from her Cappuchino. I asked for a 'milky coffee' and got cold milk and a drop of black coffee. Enough said.

Probably the most unwelcoming experience in Dorset. Staff were slow, incapable and unaccommodating. Lunch menu is very limited and the kitchen won't allow any adjustments despite menu statement of asking staff about allergy changes. Nice pub feeling, but the imbeciles at front of house need sacking.

I stayed here 20/11/ with my husband we arrived and had a very warm welcome from the young lady on the bar and later the landlady Racheal. The room was very clean and warm on a cold evening, you can adjust the heating in the room to suit your needs. My husband forgot his suit for the function we were... More

An old coaching inn, should have been clean and inviting. We fould the stairway to the rooms, dirty bannisters. Dead spiders in the room by the bed. Carpetting to the rear for residents ( for people staying in rooms there) dirty, thread bare, walls not very clean and in my opinion uninviting. Music blared and resonated through the accommodation well... More

A busy town center pub with a basic but tasty menu- food was well cooked and not bad value. The landlady is friendly and is a nice, busy pub to visit. Previously have had a bad experience, but things have got so much better so will be back

This was our second visit to The Swan Inn. It is an old coaching inn/ pub right in the centre of Sturminster Newton. The rooms are comfortable, wifi and hair dryer and drinks tray/kettle provided. Also the room had a fan for cooling as the weather was hot. No a/c. Bathroom clean and acceptable but all could do with updating.... More
