I was really disappointed to see negative comments for this hotel, especially those describing it as a 'throwback in time' - for me, that's part of Plumber Manor's charm. This is rural English hospitality at it's most charming. We stayed for a single night, with dinner, in the 'stables' area of Plumber Manor. When we arrived there was a wedding... More

We found Plumber Manor not long after moving to Dorset in 2009. I was searching for fine dining restaurants in and around the area. It is a wonderful luxury hotel and restaurant, with gorgeous gardens, and superb food. Richard the owner and host, is always warm and welcoming, and has been running this wonderful Jacobean country house hotel for many... More

My family and I visited plumber manor at the end on march for surprise 60th birthday celebrations. The front of house were very welcoming even helping us hide our vehicles from the person being surprised! The rooms are cute, lovely window seats but bathrooms outdated. The beds are very comfortable and provide a great nights sleep. The food is brilliant... More

On our annual trip to Cornwall this year we broke the journey with a charming 1 night stay at Plummer Manor. We travelled with 2 of our kids and a dog. The front of House owner Richard could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Not only did he make us feel welcome with over 40 years of plummer manor... More

My husband has stayed here plenty of times on business but this time I came with him as we were invited for a special treat by friends. I also stayed here for the first time about 18 years ago and it was like time had stood still ( think we even got the same room) now refreshed and a lovely... More

Went for a farewell posh dinner with 5 friends on a Wednesday on recommendation from 2 of the friends that had been before. Arrived and met everyone in the bar for drinks and nibbles. We chose a three course menu at 36 pounds which had plenty of choice. Went for Scallops followed by Beef Wellington - both attracted surcharges. Attentive... More

We are very lucky to have Plumber manor on our door step, the food is excellent, and the price very reasonable, for the quality of food we get served every time we eat there. The wine list is vast, as is the bar, which is plentiful with your favourite tipple!! The Atmosphere is great with family members looking after you,... More

After reading some awful reviews of the place I was concerned about the place for my fathers 80th Birthday but after arriving and walking through the doors we were all greeted with a warm welcome. Owners and staff can't do enough to make your stay a memorable one . It is obviously an old house with loads of history and... More

We took a large party of golfers for three nights to Dorset and Plumber Manor was an ideal venue. The welcome was greatly appreciated and we were looked after with enthusiasm and professional care. Ok, the bedrooms are "faded glory" but importantly our whole stay was relaxed and easy going in a delightful setting. Breakfasts and Dinners were just what... More

We stayed here as our friends were getting married close by. Plumber Manor is a beautiful old house and fits in perfectly with the local area. Unfortunately the rooms are a little tired and could do with a makeover. The breakfast was lovely, although you do have to be up early to make it (8.30 - 9.30) which isn't easy... More
