This hotel is a traditional real seaside family hotel. The decor is traditional and lends charm and authenticity to the building and setting. The facilities are excellent with laundry, games and TV room, child dining room and play room, swimming pool, hot tub and adventure playground. We had a lovely room and spent several days enjoying the surrounding countryside and... More

We first went to the Knoll House for 2 weeks in 2002 when our three children were 1, 5 and 7. In July this year we will return for our 14th Knoll House 2 week summer holiday; with children who are now 14, 18 and 20 plus the dog. It has been great every year. Read the reviews, look at... More

stayed at the Knoll House Hotel for just 1 night with my partner and 2 children (1 and 3yrs old) while attending a family reunion nearby. The setting is certainly fantastic, nestling among the trees and overlooking the coast with the Isle of Wight in the distance. The reception area was beautiful with a blazing fire to welcome you. The... More

I absolutely love this hotel it is different to all other hotels, I have been coming here since I can't remember and every time I come it captures a different memory, I love the beautiful gardens and the short walks to the beach, so much lovely staff and so much fun!!

Knoll House is a unique place, located in a beautiful place. Can be rather hit or miss, i believe that is definitely over-priced. The furnishings and rooms were very dated with flocked ceilings in all public areas, worn carpets and late 60's furnishings. No TV in the rooms and wifi only in the bar area. Not a standard for the... More

Knoll House is a wonderful place. There are many hotels now (largely chains, though they may not emphasise this) that aim to provide an "authentic" country hotel experience. When one enters one sees the hand of the interior designer; everything is so painstakingly chosen that all one can see is the amount of effort that has gone into the attempt... More

I've read mixed reviews about the Knoll House hotel. However, what I feel is often missed is something almost intangible that one can't put in a brochure, and can't actually quantify except that one needs to have the right mind-set to appreciate it. Penny for penny, I know that one could find a hotel offering more 'facilities' for less. I... More

Family friendly yes, value for money no. We felt it was very over priced for the service and standard. This hotel is stuck in a time warp. The furnishings and rooms were very dated with flocked ceilings in all public areas, worn carpets and late 60's furnishings. No TV in the rooms and wifi only in the bar area. Not... More

We decided to visit knoll house as we were desperate to get away as a family, and with a six year old, a two year old and a ten week old baby, this was proving somewhat challenging within a 40 mils radius from where we live, so when we came accross this place, offering even a room to fit us... I've never been moved to write a review before (but have read hundreds over the years). We stayed in Knoll House with our children in July for 2 nights. I'm sad to say that the hotel has the decor and atmosphere of an average to poor care home. The TV room is exactly like those in old people's homes and... More
