Quite enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly and most helpful. The views are truly magnificent. The room was quite acceptable but a bit stuffy. Nicely furnished. No personal laundry facilities for international travellers who might like to have a catch up wash of clothing. Too expensive to pay by item. Perhaps if they charged by a laundry bag??The... More

Stayed 2 nights on a Bed and Breakfast option (buffet breakfast). Plenty of parking (free!), and despite the busy road and roundabout out front, it gets quiet at night. The facilities are a bit dated and could use freshening up (if you are a bit "nitpicky", the silicone caulking job will drive you crazy as well as the marks on... More

My daughter and I booked a three night break at this hotel. We were expecting a comfortable three star hotel complete with pool and spa. The exterior is very grim and on arrival we were told the pool was not in use and we discovered there were no spa facilities just three tired gym machines! The room was very clean... More

Thank you for your comments. We would like to respond to some of your concerns. Although our hotel was built in the 60s, we have kept all our facilities up to date. It is difficult to alter the building though, due to the extreme weather we experience, and because the main building was obviously designed to allow guests to digest... More

I booked this hotel as a last minute break even though I was slightly wary having read previous mixed trip advisor comments! On arriving at The Heights my partner's first comment was that it was the most ugliest exterior of a hotel that he had ever seen, resembling something like a 1970's cement block! ... Oh dear I thought this... More

Popped in as day visitor. It does have fantastic view of Chesil Beach and Weymouth Bay from lovely lounge. It would appear tey have done some updating since a visit a couple of years back particularly in the reception area. We decided to stay for lunch, the other half had ham egg and chips which was hot well cooked and... More

Visited The Heights for an evening meal last week. Lovely meal and very friendly staff. The meal was very good value for money when compared to some of the "chain" style restaurants. Local food well-prepared with prompt service. Lovely views over Portland.

I stayed two nights in the Heights. It is ideally placed for exploring the Isle of Portland, within walking distance of everywhere else on the island, and the views from the restaurant are superb (at least they are when it's not thick fog outside, as it was one evening. The Bistro menu is interesting - I can't recommend the twice-cooked... More

We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly Receptionist, who ensured we had table booked for dinner and even asked if we would need internet. Room very well appointed and bed very comfy and huge! Bistro dinner excellent and views superb even on an overcast evening. Breakfast was buffet with a wide choice to suit all tastes. The hotel... My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for me he paid £250.00 for two nights B & B After a long walk down a very depressing dark corridor we arrived at our room that over looked the carpark. He booked a deluxe room with Fruit, Chocs dressing gowns and slippers. Well I am still waiting for the fruit &... More

Thank you for taking the time to comment, we value your feedback. Deluxe rooms do indeed come stocked with the extras that do make a guest’s stay more enjoyable. However, it would seem that on this occasion, these extras weren’t included. We have taken steps to identify what happened, and are working to prevent this issue in future. We would... More

Cracking view. Staff were friendly although a couple could learn to smile. On the whole a Nice stay Good food Best hotel on the island. I have stayed at them all. The ocean hotel might be 4* but it certaily isnt. Lacks the charm of the heights. Keep going guys you can be better. Look forward to my return.
