Value for money .. A little old fashioned maybe but if you want a travel lodge soulless city centre location then stay away ....good high quality range of local food and breakfast and bar meals at a reasonable price ... Walks and views to die for ....

Stayed for two nights, trip to hotel with great views ending in the view from the hotel is spectacular. Stay brilliant I ate there evening and breakfast all excellent meals. The room was a little basic and had a slightly nautical damp smell not bad just obviously used by sailor drying wet kit. All the staff were very helpful and... More

The view as said below is spectacular on a clear day. Worth staying if only to gaze out along the Dorset coast over what is a rather sumptuous breakfast. We got a winter break deal which resulted in a double room (although a trek from the breakfast room). Decor was a tad tired especially in the bathrooms and the fittings... More

Obviously you are considering this hotel because you have seen the amazing view that it has to offer, this hotel is basic but is clean, friendly staff, and in a lovely location so all you need really. The hotel is situated at a very high point and has great views. The bar/restaurant, again is fine!! This is not the best... More

We have stayed here a number of times over the past 5 years and have always enjoyed our stay. The staff are cheerful, friendly, helpful and efficient and we have always found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable. There is always a good choice in the Bistro for breakfast and evening meals and we never tire of the view... More

My wife and I booked The Heights at relatively short notice and experienced a very nice quiet room and a particularly enjoyable breakfast the following morning. We also booked dinner from an extraordinarily ambitious menu and enjoyed a good starter and main course. The desserts were a little strange as the tastes were different from what what expected due to... More

Stayed here for one night. The decor in the room was awful in terms of colour; cyan and chocolate brown. The rest of the room itself was ok but the extra room in a superior room is not worth it as it was devoid of furniture in that end of the room anyway. Alarm on door was a bit unnerving.... More

Thanks for your comments. Our hotel does have what we consider to be, arguably one of the best views in Britain from our Bistro. It is true that our pool is no longer in operation. This is whilst we make way for some exciting improvements to our outdoor recreation area, with which, work has already begun. The chime on the... More

We booked a deluxe room for the 25th October, on arrival at the hotel you could tell that the outside of the hotel was a little dated. The man who greeted us on arrival was very well mannered and helped with everything a very warm welcome we had. We at this time booked an evening meal in the restaurant, On... More

Thanks for your comments. Although our hotel was built in the 60s, we have kept all our facilities up to date. It is difficult to alter the building though, due to the extreme weather we experience, and because planning permission to make the alterations would prove incredibly difficult. However, we are fortunate in that despite the way in which the... More

We stayed in room 125 which overlooks the pool and is one of the cheapest double rooms. It was clean, reasonably decorated and comfortable. We opened the window right up at night as the room was warm, which we are not at all used to! We dined once in the bistro. The food was excellent and definitely not freezer to... More

We booked for 17th October for 3 nights in the Deluxe room. They didn't give us the deluxe room. It took a while to work it out though due to the size of the room. When we enquired about it, it turns out that there were no other deluxe rooms available. We were advised that we would get a refund... More
