Bed & breakfast & beach! The place is great and run by the most helpful and lovely couple. Rooms are tastefully furnished, comfy bed, good size bathroom and breakfast is a delight (fruit salad to kill for). Location is great, just minutes to the beach, near bus stops and near good walking tracks.

Returning for our second stay whilst competing in a regatta, this bnb is a hidden gem. Jo & Mark are so welcoming, the house is spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated. Breakfast is a treat full English or just egg on toast & to fit in with your plans. Portland has a great bus service & some stunning beaches. Love it... More

Just returned from a three day stay with Jo and Mark on our first visit to Portland. The owners could not be more welcoming, and showed us to our room which was at the very top of the property. The room was flooded with light and very airy. Very comfortable bed, and the windows had effective blinds which shut out... More

I'm not often moved to write up a glowing review of a B&B or hotel, but I actually feel it would be quite unfair not to on this occasion. A really nicely, calmly decorated, well appointed and (what is incredibly rare in British B&Bs) amazingly well designed room, with huge amounts of space and great views. Although on the top... More

Jo and Mark couldn't have made me feel more welcome, taking me to the pub quiz on my first night and then asking me to join them for dinner on my second. They are full of information, and gave me some great advice to help my planned move to Portland. The B&B is a magical labyrinth of rooms and stairs... More

Perfect stay on a Saturday night after a local wedding. Don't be put off by the location, the area appears a little tired and it's not obvious it is a bed and breakfast. Once you find the art gallery 'Jacksons' it is next door. Mark and Jo own both and could not have been more welcoming or helpful, allowing us... More

I have needed to visit Portland on three separate occasions in the last few months due to business. Jo and Mark made me feel very welcome and made sure my stay was comfortable. I can only recommend them and the accommodation is excellent. In addition they have great WI-FI facilities and the Café / Art Gallery next door, which is... More

Nothing to criticise, everything to recommend. Quality accommodation with a wonderful breakfast. Excellent hosts who also run the adjacent coffee shop/art gallery which is by far the best in the area. I personally would not look to stay elsewhere on the island, which itself is a great place to visit and enjoy. Top class. Well done Mark and Jo.

I have stayed here a number of times with my family, but this was the first time I'd stayed with just my boyfriend. The owners, Jo and Mark, were fantastic as always. Very welcoming when we first arrived, and throughout the weekend Jo made sure we had everything we needed, with lots of tips and advice on things to see... More
