We have eaten at the King's Arms a couple of times and have always been satisfied. Today, Sunday at 1500, we had an excellent carvery, the best we have had for years. The quality of the meats and vegetables was outstanding. Lovely ambience and excellent staff. We do not live in the area but are looking forward to visiting again.

We were visiting friends in nearby Gillingham (Dorset not Kent) and saw how highly this place was rated. And found there was good reason for the ratings. Very welcoming staff and head chef/owner who squeezed us in even though the place was rammed. Good, fresh Carvery, nice change to have choice of meat temperature rather than just the usual stock... The food was excellent. They were very busy but service was good. Their website suggested they had a good selection of single malt whiskies. I did not think the selection was very good and the bar staff knew nothing about them. This was disappointing. However, the food was good and I would be quite happy to go there again.

Doing the Christmas rounds of wreath laying at family graves, we needed to find a stopping off place for lunch. By chance we had heard good reviews of The Kings Arm. Arriving right on opening time, we were fortunate to have the last table for two that was not booked. Groups of People were arriving all the time, the staff... More

This pub had been recommended to us for Sunday lunch whilst staying in the local area. What a find. The portions are massive, I didn't even manage a pudding but our son did! We had the choice of turkey, chicken, lamb, beef or a slice of each. The vegetables were fresh and beautifully cooked and my son said the stuffing... More

Lovely food and plentiful and the carvery is really delicious, BIG portions and you don't leave hungry unlike some carveries who offer tiny portions. Will be back and will be bringing friends this time.

I went with my aged Uncle who eats there quite often on Sunday evenings. He had raved about the carvery, so I was expecting big things; and I wasn't disappointed. I had some beautiful roast beef with a good selection of vegetables, all cooked to perfection. The 'haggis stuffing' was a sublime touch.I look forward to eating there again soon.

We ate here twice during our holiday in Dorset last week. On Sundays they serve a carvery which looked great and a range of other pub food. During the week there is a longer menu to choose from. The food was lovely - large portions and very tasty. The puddings are huge! On both occasions it was busy and there... More
