We were staying in a local B & B but had arranged to meet a friend locally when we found an eaterie. We phoned and booked a table and good job too as it was very busy. Swift service, excellent food but a bit limited and unimaginitive on the specials board. Lovely large portions of well seasoned food but thought... More

It was always going to be a busy affair but the service and food were excellent and even though we were the 4pm reservation the enthusiasm and diligence were top drawer. Beer good. Well go back when it is a little less hectic but suspect we will still go back on a Sunday for the roast!

The restaurant was adequate, However, was disappointed as the previous reviews were so complimentary, Overall, the service seemed a little tired and not focussed. It reminded me of an old works canteen type service, The beer I was served had bubbles stuck on the side of the glass. I find this very off putting. I apologise if the review is... More

Well cooked variety of vegetables and traditional sides with a chice of four meats, good choice of homemade desserts, and excellent value. Very busy between noon and 1.30pm, but thins out considerably after that for those who prefer a late lunch. Service good. Only complaint is that it's hard to park as it's so busy!

Excellent food and superior service. They even packed us a cheese board to take home for later!. Would recommend to anyone. Enough variety on the menu to keep most people happy and tasty Vegetarian options. The Eton Mess was particularly lovely too.

We travel here from Sherborne as the Sunday carvery is excellent. You need to book as it is so busy and popular. The service and quality of food is superb and there is a good choice of food even on a Sunday. The carvery is lovely with a choice of at least 4 meats and you can have a slice... More

We have driven past this pub many times but never ventured in before. The decoration inside was not what I was expecting, it was very light and contemporary. The staff were very freindly and showed us to a table and took our drink order while we looked at the menu. There was a very wide choice of food and prices... More

What a surprise! Sitting down to the "full Scottish" in the depths of rural England and delicious it was! The best black pudding we have tasted for many a long year! What surprised us on our first night at the King's Arms was how busy it was for a Thursday night. That however was as nothing when it came to... More

For anyone who loves food. Brilliant customer service could live there. Been for a weeks holiday but been 3x in that week. Wonderful, pricey perhaps, but the quality is devine. Great menu shame we live in kent, too far away.

We stayed two nights and found everything to be first class. Whilst breakfast was an option at £10 per head - don't miss it, as it's well worth paying for. Try the haggis, which is specially bought down from Scotland. We also had an evening meal and were not disappointed with the very extensive menu or our choices. It is... More
