Perhaps a strange title for a review of a pub but, frankly that is its real attraction. A neighbour mentioned the Scott Arms to us yesterday and, as we had already intended to go for a drive and a spot of lunch today, we decided to give it a try. And what an absolutely stunning location! With a large terraced... More

A friend suggested this might be one of the best pub views in England.... it certainly must be in with a chance. However the service on our visit let the pub down. Out of 8 meals on two orders, 2 meals were wrong. And when the staff where questioned they didn't seem overly concerned. Whilst at the bar a gentlemen... More

We ate here on a very busy Friday evening in August, with our young daughter. We'd travelled some distance and were a bit frayed and hungry. We hadn't booked (never occurred to me that a pub in small village would be full by 6.30). We were strongly encouraged not t o bother waiting and when I said we'd wait at... More

I went here several times whilst on holiday in the area, and it was fantastic. There are beautiful views down to Corfe Castle from the garden - but the inside is also lovely, a characterful old pub with a light and airy restaurant area at the back. The service was friendly and prompt even when they were busy, and the... More

Can't beat the view from the garden on a sunny afternoon. We were going to head into Corfe for dinner but as we drove past the Scott Arm we decided to stop here instead. Both had burgers which were huge and clearly homemade, they lacked a bit of seasoning but otherwise were good and great value. Would make a great... More

I stayed with my wife recently, and we were quite disappointed. The room was in need of a lick of paint in lots of places, the bed was very comfortable, but the shower suffered from a distinct lack of pressure and did not work properly. We ate each evening of our stay and on the second evening had to wait... More

Came for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The place was heaving which made for a great atmosphere. The Jerk Shack was fired up and smelt good but we opted for a ploughmans which was fantastic and the service was quick. Great view over Corfe Castle too. We were only in Dorset for a week and we ended up coming... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Scott Arms, The staff were very welcoming and the location was amazing, with views from the garden out over Corfe Castle and across to Poole Harbour. The food was excellent, especially the seafood - the Hake and Chorizo dish was the best we've tasted for a long time. The pub itself is... More

On my list of what a pub should have I include: - An open fire - A bit of character - Good food that isn't too expensive (I can go to a restaurant if I want expensive) - Good selection of beers - A view if possible - A beer garden which isn't on a main road - Friendly staff... More
