The picture in the advert looks nice but really it is not picturesque at all. Charmouth is beautiful but for views this is not the place. It is very amateurly run. The staff are not properly trained and do not know how to engage customers. The owner is not around and is seen to be rushing in in the morning... More

The Heinsleigh House was a dissapointment in most aspects except for the COOKED breakfast. The room was "newly decorated" which is suprising considering the paintings clashed with the walls and there was no where to hang your clothes (like a peg). Yes, I know that it is is shocking that a B&B as overpriced and overrated as this didn't even... More

This is the second review from your family for same reservation for one room. The reservation was for March not April, and you were with your family not friends. The other review is posted under the user name “the_finchley_lees”. Our ratings on Trip Advisor and other sites come from our guests not ourselves, and it is regrettable that you criticise... More

We stayed in a lovely family room (no 7) which was newly refurbished (photo on the website didn't do it justice). Lovely breakfast with large choice of options. Very friendly and helpful staff, any problems were sorted straight away. Just two minutes walk down a quiet road to the beachfront which was exactly what we were looking for.

We are pleased that your family enjoyed your stay and had a relaxing time. As you say it is sometimes difficult to give a full impression of the rooms through the restrictions of the angles of a camera lens. However, we would much rather it exceed your expectations! We hope you will come and visit us and the fossils again... More

Stayed two nights at this excellent location near to beach in a lovely part of the UK. Owners and their staff made our stay, as their care and attention to all detail and our requirements was their key objective.

Only 3 minutes away from Charmouth Beach, this B&B is ideal for any fossil enthusiast. However you do not need to be a fossil hunter to enjoy your stay at Hensleigh House; the staff is welcoming, the rooms are cosy, and the breakfasts and cream teas are delicious! Nothing else to wish for!

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and the fossil hunting. As you say West Dorset is a lovely area where there are lots of lovely walks and things to see when not fossil hunting. We are pleased you enjoyed the cream tea and we hope you will visit again in the future. Kind regards Jim & Dawn More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your break and were able to visit some of the locations from Broadchurch. Its just a shame that our iconic blue beach huts were away having repairs to storm damage at the time, although we believe they are due to be reinstated on the beach soon. We hope to see you again soon.... More

I was expecting for the price for the B&B to have some particularly redeeming qualities, but it was unattractive, set in a carpark and tarmac. Our room was grim, double aspect overlooking the carparking - not really what we came to Charmouth for. The décor was horrid and clashing pictures on the wall. The room did not afford us the... At Hensleigh we aim to have a friendly, enjoyable, relationship with our guests. Our property has a private tarmac car park. Both the car park and property can be seen clearly on Google Streetview and Google Satellite view, so there should be no surprises, and we hide nothing. We do not claim any particular views from our rooms, even though... More

We stopped here overnight, having been booked by our walking company as part of our coastal walk. Unfortunately we has room 4 which is very small and we struggled with nowhere to put our luggage without tripping over it. Looking at pics of other rooms it appears we drew the short straw as they were fully booked. Having said that... More

Thank you for the review. We are sorry if the room was smaller than you would have liked. However, at Hensleigh House we strive to give complete transparency, and everyone books the actual room they stay in, so as to avoid any surprises. Photographs of every room are given on our website where Room 4 is described on our web... More

Really recommended. Very nice rooms and hosts - friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent too, with very attentive service. Location couldn't be better - 2 minutes to the stunning fossil beach. Best pub was The George - good beer and nice atmosphere. Overall a perfect B & B.
