We found this beautiful house, just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bridport, to be greeted with a very warm welcome from the owners. The room was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious! We would definitely return on future visits. Martin & Sue

We've now stayed at The Gables twice. The house is beautiful, and the quality of the hospitality extended to us by the owners was second to none. We cannot recommend the Gables too highly ...although we are nervous that leaving this review might mean we can't get a room next time we want to stay!

An Arts and Crafts house on the edge of Bridport, the original design and lovely detail intact - oak panelling, fab fireplaces, stone windows. Rooms decorated in farrow and ball or similar, with Wm. Morris fabrics. Warm, comfortable bed with high quality linen. Good breakfast and helpful, friendly owners. Easy 10 min walk into Bridport and many good places to... More

Francis was very welcoming and we stayed in a lovely room with double aspect windows. An extremely comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was freshly cooked with locally sourced produce. We would definately stay again if in the area.

A beautiful Edwardian house on the outskirts of Bridport with lovely views over the surrounding hills. I had a very comfortable and well appointed bedroom with en suite that felt v luxurious. Frances, the owner, and family were extremely welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend The Gables if you are looking for somewhere to stay whilst visiting... More

My partner and I stayed for two nights. I don't usually go for B and B's as I worry it would feel like I was in someone's home, but my sister booked this one for my birthday and it was lovely. Frances the owner was friendly and relaxed. The entrance hall and breakfast room are very atmospheric panelled rooms and... More

We've just spent three days at The Gables, a beautiful early Edwardian large house just a short stroll into the centre of Bridport. The owners are very warm and welcoming and the large rooms extremely comfortable. The dining room for the excellent breakfast has a nice sitting area with a wood burning stove and lots of books to browse through.... More

A super B & B within easy walk of the town centre. A beautifully kept Edwardian house with parking and a lovely garden. We were greeted with a lovely pot of tea and generous slices of Dorset Apple cake served in our room which was comfortable and tastefully decorated with a comfy sleigh bed and wonderful soft pillows and duvet.... A beautiful Edwardian house with many original features. We stayed in two of the rooms with our adult children –Room 1 The Strawberry Thief can be turned into a twin, and has a private bathroom across the hallway (bathrobes provided); and Room 3 The Blue Bamboo with en suite shower room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.... More

They say that the best things come in small packages and this B&B is no exception. We were looking for a luxury B&B in the Bridport town area within easy walking distance to the town centre, but at an affordable price. What we got was beyond our expectations and the price was much less than I had expected. From the... More
