Everything about the Marquis of Lorne is excellent. Great service even at the busiest of times, excellent foods; their fresh salads year round are always a big hit. Truly vegetarian friendly and also excellent seafood. Particularly appreciate their genuine care for allergy issues. Beyond doubt the best Palmers IPA in the area and love their garden and outdoor play area.

Went to lunch on a Monday to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Though we have been before, I felt compelled to leave a review for the first time. Good beer. Great food. Friendly service. Spotless loos. Best hand dryer ever!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for my birthday treat for 3 nights in April. It is in a very small hamlet called Nettlecombe about 10 minutes drive from Bridport. It is very much off the beaten track so you have to have a car to get there and to get out and about as its not sonewhere a bus... More

Recommended by a friend because of the quality of the food. Our friend was right, the food is superb, we had a great lunch,a super breakfast and an excellent dinner. Bedroom was very comfortable as well. Classic Dorset country side is a plus also.

Great welcome, great rooms, good beer and lovely food - especially the breakfasts! The Marquis of Lorne is well placed for walking in the beautiful Dorset countryside and for going to the amazing Bridport Ceilidhs!

Should you visit Dorset-and you really should because it's a stunning county -you can't do better than to stay in 'The Marquis of Lorne,' lost in a beautiful valley, from where you can visit Dorchester, Lyme Regis, Bridport , West Bay, Chesil Beach, Portland Bill and Corfe Castle during the day and then return to a welcoming bar, great food... We have just had a super 4 night stay at this lovely pub, it is set in a very peaceful and tranquil area of Dorset surrounded by beautiful views. Our room was lovely and comfortable, the staff were busy but nothing was to much trouble for them and always ready to help. The food was excellent and well presented each... More

We stayed for one night booked last minute in Oct 2014. The staff were really Friendly. The food was beautiful. The inn is in the Middle of nowhere which made it beautifully quiet but definitely a sat nav needed. Exactly what we were looking for. Brilliant value for money.

This is a very comfortable place to stay and the food is great. the place was really clean, the staff very friendly and good value. It is a bit off the beaten track so make sure you use a Sat Nav or you will never find it.
