Had lunch here today. All staff were young, friendly attentive and we enjoyed it very much. I had brill which was the fish of the day. It was spotless including the ladies. We will return. There is free parking and a good menu if you don't want to eat from the fish one

We regularly come to this hotel/restaurant/pub as my parents spend a lot of time in West Bay. The food is great, brilliant location right by the beach and harbour and accommodation is very homely. Tess & Sam are always very welcoming it has a local pub feel but makes tourists very welcome. Definitely recommend visiting here.

This place should be listed under restaurants too. Having "Hotel" as part of your name tends to make one think that accommodation comes first and food second but walk in here and you immediately think your in a good quality old fashioned pub that does good food - and maybe you can stay here too! For fish fans there is... More

Enjoyed delicious scampi and chips as a quick late lunch on sunday. Chips were really crispy, scampi was plentiful and the salad was fresh, tasty and interesting. Roasts looked really good - huge! The Fisherman's (?) Ploughmans was unbelievable! Smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, a dish of prawns with mary rose sauce, three large shell on prawns, a generous salad and... More

The West Bay is a great hotel and restaurant and literally across the road from the beach! Lovely big rooms and friendly staff! The food and service in the resturant was amazing! We will be back. Thanks Tess and Sam x

Had evening meal here which was fabulous, they were fully booked but offered us to sit in bar area until table available My scallops with black pudding and vanilla apple compote were so tender and flavoursome, my partners hake was a hefty fish steak, beautifully cooked with tasty seasonal veg no room for the puds ! House wine reasonably priced... More

Our family get together for a meal to celebrate my in-laws Diamond Wedding anniversary was a huge success. Our party consisted of 12 adults, 2 children and an 8 month old baby. Our table was all set up. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was first class. As for the food: everything was cooked to perfection, piping hot... More

We had booked B&B and dinner as we were due to meet up with an old friend. On arrival we were shocked at the run down appearance of the building. Inside was a traditional pub......we were expecting a hotel. However we were in for a surprise! Our room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed with excellent internet connection. The shower... Despite its rather unprepossessing appearance from the outside this is a really excellent place to eat, especially if you like fish. I've had the battered cod on a previous visit, which was perfectly cooked with lovely chunky chips and homemade tartare sauce. This time I had the bream, which was just perfect with a fabulously delicious accompanying bed of I... More

We stumbled across this pub as we walked from the main car park down past the public toilets to the beach. It is slightly off the main "touristy" walk to the harbour and to be honest doesn't look anything special from the outside but inside it is lovely with attentive polite staff to match. We popped in for a light... More
