Breathtaking scenery, delightful hospitality, spacious yet quaint room and a delicious and ample freshly cooked breakfast - what more could you want? A really relaxing location with spotless rooms and good old fashioned comfort. Thoroughly enjoyable and a good base for seeing the Dorset coast. Would highly recommend.

Well what can I say we have just stayed at Abbey House for a wedding it was the loveliest wedding we have ever been to and the food was wonderful . The hosts and staff were amazing I recommend staying and eating here I have never stayed anywhere as nice and I have been all over the world. So much... More

We stayed here for three nights in October. The owners are very welcoming, the rooms very comfortable and clean, the breakfasts delicious and the overall experience was excellent. We can't wait to return. It's very well situated to walk to attractions in Abbotsbury such as the swannery, sub-tropical gardens, the chapel on the hill and it's right next to the... More

Stayed at The Abbey House for two nights during half-term. Arrived with low cloud, so didn't see the wonderful views to begin with. Hosts are excellent, and breakfast more than ample, with lots of choice. Beds are really comfortable, and although decor is certainly dated (flowery curtains/ bedding/cushions with wood-chip wallpaper and flowery border) the room was large with comfy... More

Situated overlooking the Tithe Barn at Abbotsbury this is a fantastic location . Very tidy and comfortable accommodation albeit some of the original historic feel has gone . First class food at reasonable price with good size portions . Well worth a visit and probably the best eating place in Abbotsbury .

Found Abbey House just by chance, well what a fantastic find for my Birthday weekend. Firstly the owners could not have been more friendlier, we stayed over a busy time over Bank Holiday but nothing was to much trouble. The room was lovely decorated and very comfortable 'great nights sleep' breakfast is the best, make sure you try the homemade... More

We visited The Abbey House late in the season. We chose to share the traditional cream tea and a slice of Dorset Apple Cake. Both were served with clotted cream - of course - but I was disappointed that the scones were not homemade. Having said that, it was nicely served and the, albeit paper, serviettes matched the china. Staff... More

We had a family weekend here. Fantastic rooms, excellent hosts, friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble. Superb food eaten in beautiful surroundings. A fantastic place even if just popping in for a bite to eat or a coffee. As the Tina Turner song - SIMPLY THE BEST. Very memorable and recommended to all. The Swannery is a stroll... More

Had a great lunch on Friday with four friends; how marvellous to enjoy such good food in terrific surroundings on a wonderful September afternoon. As always the welcome is considerable and done with style as well as the banter which all adds to an outstanding and memorable occasion. Our third visit and many more to come!

We have never been disappointed whether we have a light bite to eat, main meal or simply one of their divine cream teas, talking of which they do have the lightest scone ever!!! Today however we chose a light lunch, my husband had the Dorset smokie, I had the crab cakes, served with new potatoes. The salad as mu husband... More
