Abbotsbury Dorset worth a trip: quaint old village with Abbey, swans, gardens, pebble beach, long/short walks and after exploring make for the Abbotsbury Tea Rooms with real cream teas and cakes right in the center of it all. Good stuff !!

We arrived a bit hot and bothered after a long day walking the South West Coast Path. Lynne welcomed us, took us out to their beautifully kept garden, made sure we were comfortable before arranging for a very welcome complimentary pot of tea. There was an excellent selection of cakes on display and we couldn't resist adding one each of... More

We went for afternoon tea (sandwiches and cake) after a miserable experience trying to obtain Sunday lunch at the Hive beach cafe in Burton Bradstock. What a difference. The Abbey was very very busy, but we were seated straight away, given menus, and told that it might though take a while to get to us. So we sat an enjoyed... More

Popped down to the lovely village of Abbotsbury during the week, and found a lovely tearoom in the the heart of the village. We ordered a cream tea and waited, seated in the the delightful garden. Our friendly waitress called Gaby appeared with these mouth watering scones with jam and clotted cream topped with fresh strawberries. Devine experience! The rest of... More

Revisited Abbotsbury last weekend for two days after many years. The village has not lost its charm and B &B top notch. Roger and Lynn were lovely made you feel like friends not customers. Room, food, atmosphere perfect. So many little extras in our room, beautiful soft towels and flannel which you don't usually see. Shower was pristine and big,... More

Came across this tearoom after a visit to the swannery. A lovely and reasonable afternoon tea served in a very well cared for garden. You wouldn't realise the garden was there from the front but is well worth venturing through the tearoom for. Tea came with two huge scones and plenty of all important clotted cream. Do visit.

We stopped in Abbotsbury yesterday afternoon on our way home from Dartmouth. This tea room was tucked out of the way but as we ventured in we discovered a beautiful garden with plenty of seating. The staff were lovely and friendly making us welcome. My husband and I shared the cream tea as it came with 2 scones! Fabulous .

We stayed here whilst walking the South West Coast Path and arrived on a lovely warm and sunny afternoon. We were offered tea and sat in the tea garden enjoying the sunshine before being shown to our room at the front of the house. We were aware of the traffic passing very close to our window but we were not... More

This will be one of my rare 5 star ratings, and every star is honestly earned - we never made experiences like this, zravelling to England since 1994 and have seen dozens of good and average B&b's, but this is one is WONDERFUL. if you are looking for a fairy tale village close to a wonderful coast and National Trust...
