Great food, good price, nice people, swimming, entertainment. great time value for money for a short break and woolacombe beach best there is. We have been going back since the 1963 the hotel has changed a lot but the goods things about the hotel remain would recommend anyone wanting a hotel at a great price

Having read a number of reviews before booking, I knew pretty much what we would be walking into. This hotel appears to have had no improvements since the early 1970s and standards are really poor. The entertainment, facilities and menu haven't changed in decades either. But the staff are well meaning, there is a (highly chlorinated) indoor pool, entertainment, a... More

Having booked very late (day before arrival) at a very reasonable price. Arrived to find the hotel very dated and very tired. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. The bedroom had a balcony which had the most wonderful views. But the chairs seemed well worn and could do with a good clean The room was very clean with... More

It saddens me to read all the negative reviews regarding this old but grand hotel. Yes, its in urgent need of renovating and yes, its old and dated BUT give the staff/owners and the hotel a chance! My friends and I have been staying at this hotel twice a year for many years now..and our visits just get better and... More

Arrived around 745pm, left 825pm. Room not tired, more comatosed. Rubbish shower and a bed that wouldn't be allowed in a prison. It's not even that cheap - but it is sadly neglected. Now they want to charge me for my reservation - a joke - should be shutdown immediately.

What a sad and sorry state this hotel has been allowed to go to. Let me say that everything worked but Just about everything needs to be updated. The only up to date thing In evidence is the Wifi. The old tired decor...carpets...the wobbly sink...the wonky toilet handle..the missing bathroom tiles..the grubby balcony...etc etc etc.. On a positive note.....it would be... More

This is simply the worst building I have ever walked in. It smells, the staff are awful, the rooms are not fit for purpose and looked like they were last cleaned when they were last decorated, the 1960s. Our group had such a poor night that one person chose to sleep in their vehicle rather than stay in the room.... More

Contrary to some of the other reviews regarding poor fittings and decor we didn't find anything wrong. It was obvious, they have made some improvements. Our room had new carpet, and some new fittings in the bathrooms, so everything was fine. OK so the hotel was looking a bit tired, and could do with a coat of paint and a... More

The hotel has great views, fields and the sea from the balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and on a par with similar hotels (which is not a general recommendation!!) - a buffet of hot food which was OK (the sausages, like most hotels, were lacking in meat content but the rest of if was...
