Large family rooms with bunk beds and section within the room, great when you have 3 kids. Super location for woolacombe and cheap. The rooms and the hotel are very tired and in need of decoration and the hotel is on the budget side. Some of the staff are need customer service training. Although the pool is dated, it is... More

Must admit the place could do with a revamp, but thought that was part of the appeal, did remind me of "fawlty towers" but you get what you pay for, beds were comftable, view was great, breakfast filling and good quality, only down side was swimming pool changing rooms which were shocking.

We are little suspicious of the veracity of some of the reviews, especially those on Booking.Com which rate the hotel as "good" or above, not sure they are all genuine! Speaking from my own personal experience and from the personal experience of two other separate individuals who I know personally and who, it turns out co-incidentally have also stayed at... More

We'd read the many doubtful reviews but decided to continue with our booking as we were a family group of nine and wanted somewhere close to the beach and this was the only accommodation available. I phoned before we went and believe we were given a "superior room" and it did have a lovely view with dual aspects. Our room... More

This has to be the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in, a youth hostel would have been a better option! On arriving the sour faced receptionist didn't greet us with a good afternoon or how can I help you, she just glared at us! We were given the keys to room 205, OMG I have never seen such... More

The owners of this hotel should be ashamed of themselves, they are taking people's hard earned money but in return are offering accommodation that is sub standard. Yes this is a budget hotel but budget doesn't have to mean filthy windows, chipped ceilings, fixtures & fittings in need of repair, creaking floorboards & outdated decor. I have traveled extensively &... More

Just arrived back home after 3 days at the Royal Hotel, Woolacombe. Love Woolacombe and go twice a year but tried a hotel this time instead of the numerous caravan parks. I'd like to say the hotel was cheap and cheerful, room good size and food very nice. Only downer for me re rooms was creaking floorboards which made it... More

Stayed last year and thot it was brill value for money. However, this year the room (105) definitely needed upgrading. The beds were almost un-usable. The double bed mattress had a large hole one side so could only sleep on one side of the bed and the single bed was sloping down one side, so my partner kept rolling out... More

The only thing I can say about this hotel is don't book!!! The hotel is in a very good location but once inside the whole place needs a good lick off paint, we had a family room which was big but every time you moved the floorboards made noises and you can here everyone walking around upstairs, don't let the... Pictures on their website are quite deceiving these make the hotel and rooms look quite reasonable but don’t be fooled. Whilst there is, just about, a sea view from the room, the hotel is actually little way back from the main resort uphill on the way out of Woolacombe and not quite as suggested by the photos on the web,...
