We picked this hotel at Woolacombe bay because of its proximity to the beach as well as the fact that there's an outdoor and indoor pool. We weren't disappointed. Its situated a short walk to the beach and the outdoor pool is excellent. We booked last minute and as a result needed to change rooms after the first night to... More

Stayed here for 5 days last week with my family. We had a family room (room 200) which was perfect for us and it had the main room with our double bed, tv, tea coffee etc and then a room with bunk beds and a single bed then the good sized bathroom. This room has clearly been refurbished recently, as... More

My husband and I visited the WBH last weekend, £160.00 per night but the room was not available until 4pm and we had to vacate by 11 am, not even 24 hours. when I asked why the receptionist shrugged her shoulders, not sure if I caught her on a bad day but I was not impressed by this. No fridge... More

This was my second stay at the Woolacombe bay hotel this year, We stayed in a suite (Barricane) the first time and absolutely loved it. Suite came with 2 bed rooms, lounge and 2 bathrooms with large baths, ideal for our relaxing break. This time we stayed in a different suite (Lundy), this unfortunately was not as nice, only one... Very last minute - we'd booked into then booked quickly out of 1 up the road and seen the WBH before but not stayed there. Made us very welcome - much appreciated after the other one let us down badly. Excellent facilities - wanted to play tennis & golf too but had come straight from work & forgotten trainers! Played... I felt compelled to review The Woolacombe Bay Hotel after a wonderful experience there. My Fiancé proposed to me on the beach after an amazing day spent in the glorious sunshine at the Woolacombe Bay's Lido - which is fabulous, and we were waited on hand and foot by their friendly staff. The room we stayed in was also wonderful.... More

I was very pleased surprised by this hotel and the view, I stayed there for my birthday. The staff is very friendly and professional, especially at the spa.The food is amazing, proper 4 stars food, I would recommend the polenta dish. Overall a nice and pleasant stay, I will definitely come back again.

We have just returned from yet another fantastic family holiday at Woolacombe Bay Hotel - now even more improved with its wonderful new lido. I have lost count of the number of times that we have stayed here, but we are never disappointed by the excellent service, very friendly staff and facilities, we cannot wait to return again soon. Perfect!

For a so called luxury hotel, £190 a night, there is no fridge in the room, no safe, no place in the bathroom to put a toilet bag. The room is tiny. When I asked about a fridge, I was told that it is by request but they had nothing left to allocate.

I've been to this hotel many times in the last 20 years. It is now as good as its ever been. The development of the lido is brilliant and gives yo a chance to enjoy a bit of time by the pool out of any wind, with a beer or an ice cream. The rooms are clean, and spacious. Parking... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Much of the Hotel has been lovingly restored from the mid 1800's, creating it's unique and tranquil atmosphere. High ceilings, chandeliers and comfortable, quiet lounges are a testament to that era, and where first class modern amenities are required, they have been skilfully incorporated into the existing Woolacombe accommodation. We place high value on our staff. Trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive and to provide the kind of personal service that is so often hard to find. ... more   less
