Visit this hotel at least once a year usually in July for the last 12-15 years. Great for surfing and body boarding. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool. It also has a great spa, small gym, table tennis, squash and tennis courts. There is something for every member of the family. There are lots of interesting local shops... More

We stayed as a little break at the beginning of July 2014. We researched the local area and was impressed with the location of the hotel. The photos on TripAdvisor do not do the hotel justice! The hotel is lovely. We had booked a standard room and upon our arrival we asked about upgrades. The only room free was 'The... More

Two night stay in July - hotel was almost full but still felt quite empty (probably everyone was out in the sun). Had a double room with sea view. It was well designed with good decor. It was a reasonable size but not big, and the bed was a double, instead of the larger bed I'd expect. Biscuits would be... More

Having undergone a fairly recent refurb the hotel is absolutely fabulous in terms of relaxed grandeur, luxury, and comfort. The service is outstanding and the whole experience has that feel good factor, we came away very reluctantly but relaxed and content that we would definitely visit again. The location is beautiful with stunning sea views and the Lido is an... More

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the sea view rooms with a balcony looking out onto the Lido. Lovely view and I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony reading. At £200+ per night very pricey and although breakfast was very good the service was very slow if you wanted something from the kitchen rather than the... More

Second visit to the Apartments after staying last year. Great location and able to use Hotel Lido which is amazing. As previous reviewers have said the Apartments do need updating but are perfectly adequate for families who have children and spend a lot if time doing Water activities. Prices are high in school holidays naturally but with pre-school children we... More

Just got back from a 1 night stay at the woolacombe bay hotel for a wedding reception and we had a great time. This is a beautiful hotel with amazing views. The lido is so relaxing and we were lucky with the weather too. The beach is only a minutes walk and is huge. Our room was so spacious, it... More

This hotel is in a great location in Woolacombe, and has been really looked after. The outdoor pool is great, especially in the sunshine, and the beach is a 2 min walk away. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely return!

My partner took me to the Woolacombe Bay hotel for my 30th in Sept 2013 - she booked the best room in the house, the loft suite! The room was stunning with unbelievable sea views, infact a view of pretty much all of Woolacombe. I love Woolacombe anyway and have been most years for over 10 years but no trip... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Much of the Hotel has been lovingly restored from the mid 1800's, creating it's unique and tranquil atmosphere. High ceilings, chandeliers and comfortable, quiet lounges are a testament to that era, and where first class modern amenities are required, they have been skilfully incorporated into the existing Woolacombe accommodation. We place high value on our staff. Trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive and to provide the kind of personal service that is so often hard to find. ... more   less
