Lovely family run hotel where nothing was too much trouble. The new owners worked really hard to make our visit a very positive experience, including a rescue mission when my husband lost his wallet. The evening meal was excellent value and well presented Will be back 'ere long.

Very old pub, higgledy piggledy rooms with sloping ceilings and floors. Rooms clean with very comfy beds. New owners, only been there a week. Small evening blackboard menu but what was there was well presented and delicious. Good luck to the owners in there new venture. Enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is under new ownership and I turned up as Julian and his team were getting things set up. Had a great day fishing on the River Taw thanks to Julian's great tips and for lending me his waders! Enjoyed a well deserved pint before and afterwards and look forward to returning soon. Sounds like Julian and the team... More

Had a really nice meal and some really nice beer. My friend needed cigarettes so the staff drove up the road to the only shop in the village to get him some. We mentioned that we were out of eggs and was there a local farm we could buy some from and the staff gave us 6 eggs at no... More

The owners had only taken the keys to the pub in the morning of our arrival - in the circumstances they did a tremendous job! They will make a great pub of this. The welcome was warm and friendly and the pub has so much potential.

I booked 2 rooms at the Rising Sun on 8th June to stay on 8th Aug as we were going to a friends wedding at Weirmarsh Farm, I was amazed when I had an email on 23rd July cancelling my reservations. I rang the hotel and spoke to some called Louisa, who asked me who I booked with as the... More

We stayed here with our 10 month old for 4 nights. The land lady and land lord couldn't be more helpful and accomodating. They have 9 rooms in total and they were in a separate building to the main pub so we had no pub noise. The rooms are quaint and a bit dated but completely in line with the... More

Arrived at the pub mid afternoon on Friday 01/05/2015 with our group of 8 people after checking to see if they did food all day,We were told by the barman that as it was slow the kitchen had shut to prepare for the evening menu. We were clearly disappointed as we'd been on the road for hours just as we... More
