Had a quite fabulous time over Christmas. The food was outstanding. Hotel as welcoming as always. They have always had the ability to make each person feel like a friend. There attention to detail from requesting which pillow you prefer to offering blankets or duvets! Just a couple of niggles. The Jacuzzi did appear to be chilly, so much so,... More

We spent a fabulous family Christmas this year at the Thurlestone Hotel, we have visited before but this was our first christmas stay and it was such a treat. So many little details made it special, sherry on arrival, chocolates and treats in the room, gifts for all of us and plenty of activities if you wished to partake or... More

We spent a couple of nights here in Dec 2014 to celebrate our 10th anniversary - from the outside the hotel doesn't look much, but once inside it was lovely, lounge with open fire, lots of comfy places to curl up and take in the spectacular view - when we arrived we were given a free upgrade (no request made),... Having stumbled on this place during a previous visit to the area we liked the sound of the festive offering but more importantly the beautiful location. So we booked a two night break called "Twixmas". We arrived to fresh and blue sunny skies which made it all the more perfect. On arrival we parked up easily and made our way... More

Visited the hotel for Christmas Day lunch with family. Really lovely afternoon albeit there is a bit of fine tuning that needs to be done. The hotel looked amazing with lots of decorations and it felt very Christmassy. We were lucky enough to be seated by the window which has amazing views over the coast and surrounding countryside. At £70... More

Driving down the narrow country lanes as you approach Thurlstone, you could be forgiven for thinking that you had stepped back into a time when this fine and pleasant land had a much gentler pace to life. The hotel is very English with helpful and attentive staff who work reception with a calm efficiency. The decor is a mixture which... More

Dear Lucca Bass, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write such a long review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your recent visit. Right from the friendly staff, through to the ambience of the hotel, our visit was a great pleasure. Our room overlooked thurlestone bay and had a lovely balcony. The restaurant had a panoramic view over the 9 hole golf course, out to sea,and the food was to the highest quality. The Spa ( voyager) Themed on the pre war ocean liners, had nice... More

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and were shown around the hotel and then went to our room. The room had a lovely big bathroom with two sinks, separate shower and big bath and was of a very high standard in fact villeroy and boch ceramics.
