I stayed here with my partner on Saturday 11th October to celebrate his birthday, we were looking for somewhere different to stay and we definitely achieved that! I spoke to Sally and Bruce prior to our stay and they kindly arranged a bottle of wine and birthday cake for us in the room for when we arrived and even went... More

Loved my visit here with family. This is definitely worth seeing, especially if you have children. It is decorated like a pirate's ship. Full of interesting furniture, stuffed animals, unusual rooms filled with a million eclectic items. We just called in for a drink but I will try the pies next time I am there. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you Shelly, glad you liked our quirky little inn. Our inn liked you and we hope you will return with some children perhaps. I am getting a dragon that breathes smoke which will be fun for us all! Best Wishes Sallyx More

Often drive past this establishment and my husband and i have never been in, so eventually decided to pop by. On enterting the place, it's just mystifing, there are items everywhere, no nook and cranny escapes! I had a touch of one of the crystals on the tree by the bar, and made my wish, lets hope it comes true!... More

Recently a group of us stayed at The Highwayman Inn for a Birthday. The pub itself is just something else, there is stuff to look at everywhere, it has a room that is designed to look like the inside of a ship, a cosy cave, cute couple seating and the entrance is the inside of a horse-drawn coach. We had... More

My partner and I have passed this pub several times and have always loved the look of it so we decided to stop and grab something to eat on our way home from south devon. From the second we walked in we fell in love and it is clear to see how much hard work and dedication has gone into... More

Thank you for positive feedback. I think you have nailed it on the head that the inn is for those who like something different and away from the norm. We are so lucky here because our customers are very interesting too, in fact scratch the surface of people and you get a nice surprise. Hope to see you again and... More

We found this place by accident whilst looking for somewhere to eat during a detour through Dartmoor, and were delighted we did! The Inn is beautiful and fascinating both inside and out, and a huge amount of work must have gone into it, yet it still retains that wonderful feeling you get in such an old, old building. Lots of... More

Thank you for visiting our inn and your comments. It is very important to us that you have a positive experience. The pies you had are made by an ambitious local lad who wants to make the pie as famous as the pasty and takes his work very very seriously. Bruce and I just want you to have a good... More

We called in here for lunch yesterday with my sister and her husband. I have been past here probably over 100 times, and always meant to take a look, but wish I had done so sooner. My wife and I, along with my Sister and her husband went for lunch here yesterday. We were just completely and utterly blown away... More

We saw this place by accident when looking for a place to eat something during a bike tour in Dartmoor park. The exterior was very intriguing (the windows and doors were very little and seemed unreal) so we decided to go in. When we got inside we had a big surprise. I didn't even believed that a place like that... More

Glad you like the inn my lovelies. With regard to our romantic four poster bedrooms they are oldie worldy some with slipper baths etc. The prints in my Art Deco 'contemporary loo' are prints from the artist and Art Deco pioneer Erté, originally a Russian aristocrat Romain Tirtoff, who moved to Paris as a young man in the 1920s and... Most unusual place I visited in my life. Needs to be seen to understand, amazing décor worth exploring, definitely check around all the parts of the building as they all are fascinating. Haven't stayed but was shown one of the rooms and it looked stunning.
