Most unusual place I visited in my life. Needs to be seen to understand, amazing décor worth exploring, definitely check around all the parts of the building as they all are fascinating. Haven't stayed but was shown one of the rooms and it looked stunning.

One of the craziest places i've ever been. If you think the outside is special, try going in for a drink. You'll be surprized. A must see for everyone who loves "something different".And as in any good old english tradition, of course it's haunted.

Thank you very very much for liking our inn. It means a lot to us and we enjoy meeting people who like something out or the ordinary too and the positive feed back keeps us going. Have a good rest of the summer and hope to see you again. Sallyx More

We stumbled upon this place by sheer accident while on holiday, as usual we got lost on our way back to our campsite. At first we drove passed it but had to do a u turn to take a second look. We were stunned by the whole exteria so just had to go inside for a look. The landlady, Sally... More

Thank you for your kind and appreciative feed back. Glad you enjoyed the inn. I know it looks like I am very benevolent with my charity work at the moment but I haven't really done anything substantial for a couple of years. It is so rewarding when one does. Air Ambulance took my Mum to hospital and my family have... More

My friends and I went on a roadtrip and needed to go to Plymouth. We saw a sign for the most unusual pub in Britain so we followed the signs and ended up at the Highwayman Inn. It's an amazing place, the staff are friendly and this pub has so much character. I even got four biscuits with a coffee... More

I've been to the highwayman inn few times before and can't fault Bruce and Sally's hospitality , even when they wasn't serving food and small group of us came rambling from the moors wet and cold there was no trouble for them to whip up a Cornish pasty to warm us up, Sally and Bruce the owners of this wonderfull... Thank you Iron Man. We always enjoy seeing you since that first misty night when you all wandered in from the moors. The pub is interestingI agree but it is special because of the people who come in, like yousrlves, and support it. Looking forward to the next time. More

We made a detour to this pub one evening after dropping the children at a sleepover in Tavistock. I'd heard about this pub and passed this pub but had never been inside. Its a pub like no other. like stepping back in time. Amazing artefacts and mysterious items in every single nook and cranny. The landlady and landlord were very... More

I used to work in Okehampton and so used to pass this pub every day on my commute and wonder what it was like inside... Well this weekend I found out! It's definitely a deserving holder of the most unusual pub in England award - and I don't think they need to worry about losing their crown any time soon!... More

Thank you for your comments and I have taken on board your comment about the drink prices . Your observations are astute as yes we get lots of people who just want to look. The thing is for us is our overheads are massive. All repairs etc have to be bespoke. Recent fire regulations we have had to adhere to... More

I've been visiting this unusual pub for over 30 years I guess. In that time I must have taken a couple of hundred friends and relations from a few nationalities too. Without exception, everyone found the place to be inimitable and mind-boggling. Sally and Bruce have done a great job following on from Buster and Rita. When I lived down... More

Thank you for your super review. I feel quite humbled and lost for words really. Not like me at all! Yes I did have an MG it was orange and had black rubber bumpers. I was 21 I think then. The good old days and so are the new days , the now days, good when people like you take... More

This place is amazing, we arrived early for lunch on a grim day but it added to the atmosphere – and there is plenty of that. It also meant that we could have a wander through the other bars while it was quiet and check out the nooks and crannies stuffed full of bizarre and random objects. I’ve been to... More
