Went to this pub several times during a recent family holiday. We were made to feel really welcome by staff and locals. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay but would definitely recommend the food. All freshly cooked and generous portions for a good price.

Great old pub/restaurant. Carpark free after certain times over the road. No one else eating when we arrived at 6pm on a FRiday, so obviously they struggle at term times. Freshly cooked food – good fish and steaks. Good desserts and drinks. Lovely staff. Parrot even talks to you. Didn't stay in the hotel, just ate there. Recommended.

We had stayed near Mortehoe years ago on a campsite and new that this place would be close enough to walk into Woolacombe. For 2 adults and a dog it cost us £245.00 It is a family run place and they cant do enough to help. The rooms are very clean and beds made daily and clean towels when you... More

We were in the area on a family holiday over August bank holiday and due to unforeseen circumstances needed a place to stay at short notice and Smugglers Rest came to the rescue. What can I say, from the initial phone call to when we checked out the service was excellent, rooms were very clean and well maintained, comfy beds... More

We booked up here as we love morthoe , although the room was spacious the decor is so out dated and mismatched, the reception area very cluttered and unwelcoming. Unfortunately this wasn't our kind of B&B at all looked more like a student house to be honest! On the positive , excellent breakfast and lovely doggy George, (I'd love to... More

We are a family of four and had a really lovely stay at The Smugglers. We asked for a family room and got the Lundy Room which consisted of three separate rooms, large bedroom, children's bunk bed room and huge bathroom, which were self contained. Each room was spotlessly clean and well looked after. The mother and daughter team were... More

A really good value place to stay in the lovely village of Mortehoe. Our room was spacious and very clean on arrival. Everybody, including the meet and greet dog and parrot was friendly and made our stay enjoyable. I recommend the food and the full English breakfast was especially nice. Definitely intend to stay again The Bartley's
