very friendly staff, bed very comfortable, meals were wonderful. we had to change our room as there were steps to the bathroom i couldn't manage. The staff said no problem and changed our room. they said it was made into a hotel so they had to do it like that. The bar gets busy doing lunches, seems popular with the... More

Stayed for one night as we were visiting Launceston the next day and needed to be close by. The cost of the room was £125 bed and breakfast and I must say I felt this was high for the kind of product they were offering. Quite an old fashioned hotel, very clean though and the room we had had a... More

We're sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. Although we try to make everyone's stay as good as it can be, it just goes to show - 'you can't please all the people all the time!' A lot of people who come to Lifton Hall again and again really love the hotel and think the food is great. As we... More

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Only had one night there, not long enough. Gorgeous room, lovely food, lovely staff. Would definitely recommend it. Want to go back! A really nice place to stay. Lovely evening meal and gorgeous breakfast. Only away for 24 hours and felt as though I had been on holiday. Really relaxing

We stayed at this hotel a year ago whilst visiting family in Lifton. We found everything the same on returning with good standards of cleanliness, appointment and service. Good menu selection and well appointed rooms. Not disappointed.

Spent 4 nights here at the end of November. What a charming place. The rooms were large and the large brass bed very comfy. Modern fittings (e.g. en suite shower room, wifi, double glazing etc) yet with loads of character. Breakfast was plentiful which set us up for the day and the evening meals were first class....lovely staff who always... More

We recently spent 3 nights at the hotel and enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly the food was excellent. The Hotel is centrally placed to explore the surrounding countryside I would have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Lovely old time pub / hotel. We ate at the pub twice in a fairly short stay in Lifton enjoying the pies on both nights. It was recommended by the English Heritage docent at Launceston Castle. She said it would be fair priced, good service and great food, and she was absolutely right! Being from the US, they were very... More

We were unable to book our favourite hotel in Padstow for 4 nights and needed to look for somewhere "on the way" for our first night. What a find. Our room was well appointed. The bar area was cosy and our dinner was excellent. The owners are very conscious of the environment and make every effort save the planet without... More

Second time we have stayed at this hotel and we have had a lovely time. We enjoy staying in places that are more individual and interesting than bog standard B&Bs, guesthouse and hotels etc. This Hotel has lots of character, history and a great atmosphere. Our room was clean where you needed it to be; bed and bathroom. Spider webs... More
