A group of seven for two nights either side of a day's shooting. First class all round. Excellent administration (flexible on dates and numbers), great value for money (dinner, B&B package), warm welcome, comfortable accommodation, really good food and wine - and a lovely fire! The shooting was well organised and very good fun. We will be back! More

This was a "boys trip". Seven of us went for two nights. We arrived on Thursday evening and met up in the bar and had a great meal - Cornish Crab followed by Steak with home made onion rings. We were picked up at 8.30am on Friday for the Snipe Shooting by Rob. None of had been before, although we... More

An excellent meal in the attractively refurbished dining room. Although the restaurant was very busy, the staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. The food was attractively presented and tasty. More

I am delighted that you enjoyed your lunch with us. Boxing Day is always one of our busiest days of the year as we have the Lamerton Hunt meet in our yard in the morning but it is a pleasure to have so many guests come back and have lunch with us afterwards. More

We stayed at the Arundell arms for 2 nights over New Years Eve so i suppose the price of £175 for the room was inflated because of this. This was my only gripe as our Room No 12 was just not worth this price. It was too small although clean. The service and the friendliness of the team right from... More

I am pleased that you enjoyed your New Year break with us and that you found our staff team to be as friendly as ever and the food good. I agree that Room 12 is not large although it does have great views to Dartmoor. Unfortunately we were fully booked for New Year and we had no other room to... More

Stayed here one night on business. As a keen fly fisherman and shooter I had of course heard of the Arundel Arms ans was looking forward to staying but I have to confess I was a little disappointed. The staff were all very polite but a little aloof so I decided to eat next door in their pub.Had one pint... More

I am saddened that your experience of the Arundell Arms did not live up to your expectations. We do try hard for all our guests to give them an excellent time and there is certainly no resting on our laurels for any of us. I am surprised that you heard bad language in our pub. It is run by a... More

The Arundell Arms is a delightful traditional English country hotel. The old polished slate floors, open fires and super hospitality adds to the experience. Fishing, shooting, good food and stunning Devon countryside is enough of a draw to make return visits essential. There is a buzzing bar and village pub, a smart dining room and old style lounge. The restaurant... More

We held a Silk Scarves Painting workshop at the Arundell Arms Hotel, yesterday. It was the first time we have located a course at the hotel so I was nervous but the day was a complete success. We used their Tamar Room which was warm, bright and airy with good natural daylight - important when you're painting! The hotel were... More

First time visit. Great place to eat good quality food. Only met with a friend for a catch up and something to eat. We were treated very well. Staff were really pleasant and knew how to look after their guests. I might even stay here next time I am in the area. A nice find for the area! More

We (myself and my nephew) were cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End on our penultimate day when we hit 50 mile an hour south-westerlies and a head wind of 22 miles an hour and torrential rain on July 16th 2010. We were forced off the dual carriageway only to arrive at the Arundel Arms, frozen, exhausted and relieved to... More

We stayed at the Arundell Arms for just two nights. Unfortunately the circumstances for us wasn't great as our dog who should have been with us was hurt in an accident. However in saying that the staff were very kind and the whole atmosphere of the hotel very soothing. We were luck enough to have a morning with Roy giving... More
