We stayed two nights B&B plus the 5 course taster menu on our first night. After a long drive I confess the approach was a little underwhelming as the building was not as attractive as the pictures suggested. However as soon as we entered reception, the warmth of welcome and cosy ambience took over. Log fires, lovely clean room, well... More

Stayed here Friday 16th Jan 2015. Love this place. The food was far higher than my expectations & the wine flight complimented the taster menu perfectly. Even being dairy & gluten free I was still able to partake in all the courses which were exceptional even down to the petit fours! The staff were very helpful & attentive without being... More

The strongest points of this hotel are the staff and the food. Staff from reception, bar & restaurant are absolutely brilliant. Really polite, competent and friendly. Food from the restaurant is superb. I really recommend the taster menu. Best food I had in ages accompanied by a great wine selection. The weak points are the rooms which are quite basic... More

The staff was so accommodating. Our every request was met with a happy "yes". Our Westies enjoyed their special beds, towels, bowls and milkbones; and they were welcome everywhere but the formal dining room. Looking like a hodge-podge of add-ons from the back, the hotel itself was actually sparkling clean and tranquil with quality furnishings and decor throughout. We can't... More

Like a previous reviewer, we also took advantage of an excellent offer through Amazon local and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hotel is well located on the edge of dartmoor and clearly very popular with the fly fishing fraternity. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable and well appointed. The hotel does front directly onto a fairly busy road, so... More

Now, I only stayed one night at this hotel and didn't arrive until 19:45. Initial impressions were good. A very warm welcome and a very comfortable room mark this as a hotel of the old school (something of a rarity these days). This is not to say it's tired or dated - far from it - but it's a hotel... Took advantage a fantastic offer on Amazon local for a two night, B&B + a gourmet dining experience & so glad we did. Hotel is amazingly easy to find & in a great location for exploring loads of this wonderful part of the world - we know the area quite well so it was ideal for us & we visited... More

Dear Delmanda Thank you for your kind review. I am really pleased that you enjoyed the hotel and all that we do. As you rightly point out, there is much to do and explore locally even in the winter. I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Adam More

We have visited The Arundell Arms on a number of occasions over the past twelve years and have always eagerly looked forward to our next visit. The Staff are excellent and couldn't be more welcoming. Having stayed in a number of different rooms over the years we have always found them very comfortable. Old meets new in the decor of... More

I stayed here this week while away on business. It was a last minute booking due to change of location. Upon check in I was met by a very friendly and helpful lady who once I was checked in showed me to my room...room number 3. It was nothing like I was expecting. The room had a living area with... We stop here regularly on our way back to Cornwall - it's just off the A30. Ostensibly a fishing and shooting venue, don't be put off. The hotel bar has a reliable and wide, inexpensive menu. The fish dishes are great, steaks are good, and if venison is on the menu, this is highly recommended. For sweets, the rose creme... More
