Fantastic food and a very friendly landlord. At the end of a nice walk around Slapton what a great place to dine. If you take the car best to park in the 'park and walk' as it is called. It is an impressive building worth phographing but like a lot of pubs in the country it does shut at 230... More

This is the third visit to The Tower pre Spring. We come back as the whole experience is fantastic. We have a dog so the pub rules on canine companions, rooms and access are a massive positive. Food is excellent, new set menu really works £20 for three courses, the specials are just that and the main menu makes deciding a real difficulty.... More

We recently rented a cottage in the heard of Slapton and were thrilled to find this pub a very short walk away from where we were staying. Four of us dined and the standard of the food was much higher than I was expecting which was a pleasant suprise. All of our mains were cooked to perfection (the fresh Dover... More

I've been going to Slapton for years, we usually break up camping trips to go to the Tower Inn as the selection of ales is outstanding, the service friendly, the food delicious and plentiful, and the log fires welcoming when it's a bit chilly. With this in mind my partner and I decided to book a couple of nights. Having... More

Wonderful food and great atmosphere. The mussels are amazing, I highly recommend them! A warm and inviting pub with lots of character and a lovely welcome. It's a great place to spend a relaxing time with lots of lovely walks nearby it's perfect for a hearty meal or a few drinks. The owners were fantastic with my children. Can't wait... More

On a cold November evening it was a delight to walk into this lovely pub lit mainly with candles and with an enormous welcoming log fire. The ambience is of bygone days with the very romantic lighting and unhurried but attentive service. We were a party of four and all selected different items from the menu. The slow cooked beef... Having booked to go camping in Slapton for the half term, we needed a break from the wind and rain, and a good meal. Well thats what we got! The meal was reasonably priced, freshly cooked and delivered in good time. I had the belly pork, while my wife and children had the traditional fish and chips. Probably the best... More

We went there on Sunday 22nd September and had a fantastic meal with 2 young children (1 and 3). The service was very relaxed and informal and were very friendly. I had the incredible slow cooked shin of beef with dauphinoise potatoes and a fantastic sauce. My wife had the burger which was cooked to perfection. Both of my daughters... More

From the moment you think 'it can't be down the narrow lane' this place delivers its secret gems. It's a fascinating building with a pleasant garden overlooked by the tower, all set in a in a pretty village a short drive (or walk) to Slapton Sands. The food was excellent and breakfast was generous and imaginative. The beers were top... More

On entry, we actually remaked on the friendly and welcoming greeting we received from about three young members of staff and they were all helpful and accommodating from then on - luckily we had booked as it was very bury. The pub is full of interesting history and atmosphere with lots of small separate areas of seating and different levels... More
