Incorporated lunch here on a walk around Slapton Ley. A very warm welcome from bar staff and wood -burning stove. I had a starter portion of mussels with two halves of Addlestones cider..(I know that makes a pint, but it would'n't accurately describe the experience..one half was so good, I had another..) The mussels were from Brixham & cooked in... More

And ended up having a splendid Sunday Lunch of roast beef and trimmings. As it turned out it was absolutely flying out of the kitchen, no wonder it was cooked perfectly. Great beers and fabulous atmosphere. Staff were spot on, polite and courteous - couldn't want more. This was our first foray here and it won't be our last.

Warm, clean, comfortable with really polite staff and great locally sourced food. I came here to enjoy my birthday for lunch and shall definitely return. I chose a fish course from the "specials" menu only to be told this was an evening dish but they would ask the chef of the availability and thank you Chef for taking the extra... More

Couldn't of found fault if we'd tried, food staff and venue, amazing. After a long dive down for a break, we thought we'd stop and grab something quick to eat. Although we could of done that quite easily, we didn't. We had stumbled on an amazing find, the menu was to good to pass, so we ended up having a... More

Great evening spent at the Tower on Friday. The warm welcome as you enter the pub and the excellent food and service always exceeds are expectations. The Scallops were cooked to perfection and the Venison delightful. The Tuna Steak with the watercress sauce was delicious.

Just stayed for 1 night this weekend. Booked due to my partners birthday and wanted to try a recommended Indian restaurant in Kingsbridge. Arrived while the pub was closed in the afternoon but the chef was their to answer the door and the landlord came to get our room key and show us the way. Also happy to let us... More

Found this place looking for a dog friendly pub in the Kingsbridge area for an evening meal. Not the easiest pub to find but well worth it, a great atmosphere and some of the best pub food have eaten for a long time. Would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.

This place is tucked in the small village of Slaton which is only a short walk away from the pebbly beach at Torcross. There is a sandy beach just a few miles away called Blackpool Sands but they do not allow dogs on it. They have one room which you can stay with a dog and a beer garden which... More

Had a drink in this fine establishment yesterday and had tea there tonight with the family.A stunning location, we're staying local anyway. Top local Ales, friendly laid back staff. Our various meals were superbly presented and the ambience if the place was lovely. Only slight downside was some whingeing old goat behind us, but thankfully she ordered her poor old boy... More

Excellent meal and beer in a classic old pub. Fascinating location, in a beautiful village, albeit a nightmare for parking. Excellent beer (Butcombe, St Austall Proper Job and Dartmoor Best). The fresh water mussels were some of the best I have ever had and the steak cooked to perfection. Friendly and attentive staff. Well worth finding.
