Family run (VERY well run )Hotel. Every aspect superb. Courteous and highly efficient staff, superb cuisine, excellent rooms, especially those with sea view balconies! Location perfect, very frequent bus services to nearby towns and beaches. In a word - perfect. So much so, we've booked in for next year!!!!

The hotel is well presented and the service is very good, however the facilities are clearly from a by gone era. The room was clean, but the bed was not comfortable and reminded one of a hospital bed after taking all the frills off to find an old blanket with a sheet along with hospital corners. There was some sort... More

Our first visit to the hotel, return visit for many of our friends in the club. Super welcome, well appointed rooms and very high quality food. Even a Michael Macintire look alike! Very much looking forward to another visit!

I had a lovely two night break with two of my oldest friends, for a catch up and relax. The hotel was lovely, very comfortable and friendly. We did have some 'dietary problems' - the staff in this family run hotel couldn't have been more helpful and understanding, so we felt very well looked after. I will be back with... More

Well located with fabulous views. Pleasant rooms with a traditional style ambience. Food was very good but not overly adventurous. Great place to take your mum for lunch or a special birthday. Location great for walks from the door around the coastline.

Later that evening we had a meal at the hotel. We spent the night at the hotel and had the luxury of a room with a sea... More

A friendly family run hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the Torridge estuary. A number of rooms look out onto the estuary and across to Appledore and these are to be recommended. Rooms were warm, comfortable and clean and bathroom facilities to a high standard. The hotel offers excellent bar meals including a variety of pub classic dishes as well... More

Have to agree with a few people that this hotel is punching above its weight if its a 3* hotel. Clean, well looked after hotel that is facing into the seafront. Nice decor and the Staff are all very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Put altogether it is highly recommended by me and competitively priced. Room is a nice size,... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Commodore. The food ranged between very good and excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Lovely views across the estuary, constantly changing with the weather. Spacious and comfortable room. Yes,we'll be back.
