Stayed here four or five times in late 2014. It is a delightful place, family run, warm, welcoming and comfortably furnished. The owner is charming as is the restaurant manager and all the staff we encountered worked hard and were very engaging. The rooms are very quiet, comfortable and the food is excellent (belly pork is especially good). Super breakfasts... More

As I had booked almost last minute for the autumn bank hols, many places were already booked up especially as I had to take my dog with me. This is off the beaten path and very nice find. I thoroughly recommend especially if you drive as it is a short drive to Lyme Regis and other local beach areas. An... More

First time away with our new puppy so wasn't sure what to expect from a "dog friendly" hotel. Needn't have worried. Lovely hotel and grounds. Spotlessly clean. Rooms on the small side but adequate. We stayed in the East wing. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Didn't eat in the evening, preferring to try local pubs with the pup. Worth every... More

This 'dog friendly' Hotel is a hidden gem on the Somerset/Devon borders. A former family home in two acres of landscaped gardens with lovely views over the countryside. The Hotel is very tastefully furnished with comfortable en suite bedrooms and comfortable communal areas. The food served in its Restaurant is first class but with a limited menu, predictable for a... More

Stayed at this hotel for one night while in the area on business. The location was easy to get to however you are in the middle of nowhere which made it quiet but meant that you would need to drive to go anywhere. That was fine for me as I wished to work in my room in the evening. My... More

A well maintained hotel in the middle of farm country, surrounded by sheep farms. Spacious rooms, modern bathrooms, quiet surroundings. The food menu is varied but a tad limited in scope. The food quality is very good. Breakfasts are average. Most staff are very accommodating but not all which is why we give it 3 stars.

We stayed at the Fairwater Head Hotel for just one night in the last week of August 2014 and it was absolutely fantastic. It was easy to find, well sign posted. A warm welcome from reception and so helpful. Showed us round the hotel which is really lovely. We were shown to our room and even our dog was given... More

We had a short break here over the august bank holiday weekend, the hotel is in an excellent location with super views and within easy reach of top local seaside towns. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive at all times, rooms are very adequately equipped and what must be said the cleanliness is excellent, most of all the... More

Had a great 2 night stay, Chris the restaurant manager was an excellent host and we enjoyed a very tasty meal which was of high quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and all fresh, local ingredients. Only slight groan was the noise transferral from room 8 up to room 12. Not sure what soundproofing... More

My wife and I decided we needed a break and wanted to head down to Lyme Regis. The downside to this is that we're new dog owners and had left it late - so not only had we to find somewhere dog friendly (we're too attached to put Charlie in kennels) but we also had to find somewhere that wasn't...
