Just got back from The Manor House and a 2 night weekend golfing break ( golf at the Ashbury Hotel about 1.5 miles away) this was about my 15 visit over the years and it never fails to impress. Yes the rooms and furnishings are dated but have everything you need and how long are you in there for anyway,... More

I love this hotel and cannot wait to go back. There is so much to do that you could fill your day from 9 til 5 easily. Food is great and so much to choose from. It is a 2 Star but only the rooms would show under that category. That said, I have paid a hell of a lot... More

I booked a last minute 3 night break for myself at the manor after needing to get away! I felt the manor would be ideal as a single traveller with so many things to occupy myself with. I arrived on the Sunday am and as I had been there 4/5 years ago knew the style of the hotel. I had... More

The golf, sport craft and spar are great. The hotel is very poor Although their ads says the accommodation is not high grade they cannot continue to make that point year after year. It is no longer a case of not being high grade. The rooms were damp smelling and grubby. Bathroom floor dirty, radiator rusty, shelves dusty, windows dirty. Not... More

Just come home from a 4 day break here. What a strange mixture! Our first bedroom was so awful we immediately asked to upgrade. This was a reasonable 5% extra. Our next room was larger with 2 single beds and a full size bathroom. The bathroom floor was grubby and the toilet bowl very stained. The whole place is so shabby... More

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and had an absolute whale of a time. Would like to have stayed longer as there is so much to do and learn we didn't have enough time. We enjoyed many Arts and Craft activities, as well as Indoor Bowls, Short Tennis, unlimited 10 Pin Bowling and Crazy Golf, hydro spa,,wonderful massages, facials... More

The first and most important thing that has to be made clear about Manor House Hotel is that it is not a 4 or 5-star hotel. It is not intended to be, or marketed as such. In fact it’s designation is 2-star; anyone seeking opulence needs to look elsewhere; do not expect a concierge, bell boy, welcome drink, business centre... More

We stayed here from 8-11th September, a couple aged 21. This is a very honest review of the manor house hotel stating some of our experiences as well as general comments... Our check in was very quick and easy. Rooms were available from 3pm and we turned up close to 5pm. The receptionist was friendly, there are plenty of maps... More

Tired accommodation is being partially refreshed but emphasis is always capital investment rather than adequate maintenance. Rooms adequate, service so-so, food plentiful and of good quality. The overall package with included activities inc. golf remains irresistible, despite the flaws. Have stayed here many times over the years and will probably keep on making the annual visit. Staying here for 5... More

We normally have a villa holiday abroad but our children are teenagers now and need more entertainment so we thought we would try a UK activity holiday. A neighbour recommended the Ashbury but we decided to stay at the sister hotel the manor house as we don't play golf. The location is lovely and during our 4 days we tried... More
