Our first visit to this Hotel and what a lovely surprise. The food and service was excellent, such a great choice and very tempting to over eat. The sport facilities were very good with a great variety of activities. The Spa was great and never overcrowded. A good range of hobbies and crafts to take part in. My wife made... More

Just returned home from our 4th consecutive year at The Manor House - had a fabulous stay (yet again) and already booked for next year. We don't use our phones/ laptops/games consoles for 7 days as we are FAR too busy (there are two unwatched TV's in our suite). We hardly spend any time in our rooms (granted they are... More

My sister and I stayed here. We had a great time, the massage treatments were good and very reasonably priced. The room was very clean and tidy. The decor is old fashioned but so what, if the decor was up to date the prices would be higher and I think they have invested in more important things ie state of... More

This is a bizarre place and I could understand reviewers giving it anything between 1 and 5 stars. The craft and leisure facilities are excellent whilst the rooms are very basic but adequate providing you are not that fussy. The food offering is extensive (and self-service) at lunch and breakfast but is probably more appealing to those who value quantity... More

Not glamorous. Accommodation fairly basic but you'll be too exhausted to notice. Brilliant craft activities. Great 'fun house' play cage/soft play, loads of sport, helpful staff. Food clever ie children's sausage/chicken nugget meal and proper 'restaurant' food for adults. Great vegetarian options. Needs better coffee and some washing machines but on the whole Loved it!

We have just come back from an excellent family holiday. There is plenty to do for everyone from my 11 year old son to my 84 year old mother. The full board food was good and plentiful. We had a lovely quiet room which was in good order with 2 toilets! It even had fantastic views over the Moor. The... More

All the craft workshops brilliant, and all ages can do, I went wit hubby and 6 and 8 year old, they did some fab painting, jewlerely making, card making, painting, and best of all silk painting! Food was fantastic, on every occasion there was plenty of choice and something that everyone liked, including vegetarian choices, Couple of downsides....no lifeguards in... More

This is my third review on my fourth trip to this hotel, again with a hoard of family in tow ranging from 6 to 72, previously the experience and the activity overcame everything and allowed me to leave feeling positive. I have found it a lot harder this time. Unsurprisingly the place hasn't changed much, although I found myself in... More

My family and I, aged from 5 to 85, have been visiting the Manor House for 11 years now and we have had a great time every year. Some of the reviews I have read puzzle me. If you are looking for 5 star accommodation, or to spend a large amount of time in your room, this is not the... More

Recently spent four days here with 2 girls aged 10 and 12. This could be such a lovely place if they'd just invest some money in giving it the makeover it so desperately needs. The location is marvellous, with beautiful views of Dartmoor, and the sports facilities and craft workshops are just fantastic. The food is basic but wholesome and... More
