I stayed here for 2-4 nights a week for 10 weeks and had a great stay. Tonia was a great host throughout and I couldn't have been made more welcome. A great place for long or short term. There are two very friendly dogs that welcome you in every day and on my last morning said a very fluffy goodbye.... More

Stayed for 2 nights. The owner was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Two dogs tottering about they were friendly and harmless. This b&b is lovely and clean, the furnishings downstairs are interesting and everything has its place. Our room (3) was average size, comfy beds and lots of pillows, had a good nights sleep. Bathroom was tiny, couldn't swing a... More

This is a poor place to stay. Flaky Internet, broken TV (repaired after a day), impossible to park near and a cold room. The shower was a trickle that was cold that flooded the tiny en-suite. Still, it was cheap, so maybe that's what you expect. The real problem is the landlady - "overbearing" comes nowhere near. Perhaps she thinks... More

Me and my parter booked to go to breken guest house for 7 days for a little holiday and when we arrived we were very pleased with the choice that we made. The room was well sized, the breakfast was always delicious and the house itself was always kept immaculate. I would recommend breken guest house to those who are... More

Tonia is delightfully wacky and charming and the common rooms are crammed with interesting ornaments. There is some disorganisation though - when I arrived at 4:15pm on a Saturday, there was no answer at the door or phone - it was the day she needs to buy things or something and when I returned at 8pm, everything was normal. Since... More

You would have to go a long way to find a cleaner guest house or a better breakfast. Tonia is a one off (in a good way). Great start to our tour of Devon. We were only there two nights and managed to find parking within 100 yards on both days.

This may be a more slightly biased review than most but, it is honest. Tonia ( my mother inlaw ) is a real character. She works extremely hard and takes cleaning to whole new levels. I am only offering my opinion on the breakfast as I dropped in on a very busy Saturday morning. With her usual style all guests... More

This is very pleasant b&b. the lady owner is very friendly & kind. This is also reasonably priced & although there is no parking on site we were able to park for free at a nearby car park courtesy of a special permit that had been obtained for her guests.

Last month my husband and I decided to spend a few days in Exmouth. Unfortunately we couldn't find a place to stay. After a lot of time phoning hotels and B an B's we had the good fortune call the Breken. Tonya was so helpful and managed to move another guest giving us the last twin room at the top... More

A weekend break in Exmouth to relax and unwind. Arrived to a warm welcome and was shown to a lovely little room that was spotlessly clean with all the facilities you could ask for. Wide choice for breakfast and plenty of it! The location of the guest house is just a short walk from the sea front and not much... More
