We booked an Easter break at the last minute, via the Shearings Website. We wanted to go to east devon and this seemed like a good deal. We did not know what to expect from a Shearings hotel and thought we would have to put up with institutional food! Not a bit of it! The hotel is well situated on... more

Just arrived back from all inc self drive Mon - Fri break at this Shearings hotel. Never tried Shearings before but we really enjoyed ourselves. We paid for a sea view room which I would recommend but although we booked our break 6 months earlier we didn't have one of the better rooms with a balcony. I did question this... more

We were looking for a cheap winter break in East Devon and can wholely recommend The Imperial. The position of the hotel is ideal - set back from the seafront only by well maintained gardens and a short walk into the town centre. We paid a supplement for a sea view and this was worth every penny (see attached photo).... more

i've rated this above average for our stay in Feb because the hotel is very well situated on the seafront within easy walking distance to the town centre. A big car park is a big plus and paying a few extra quid for a sea view room is worth the money. All staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel... more

The Imperial's large free car park is a valuable asset in an area where public car parks are expensive and usually full. Plus points of hotel: Comfortable rooms (just) Large, well-manicured gardens Good breakfast choice Entertainment including bingo if you want it Helpful staff Minus points: Not really suitable for those with walking difficulties. The corridors are narrow and although... more

This is a 'WA/Shearings' hotel ( A holiday company catering mainly for Senior Citizens) Bookings must be made through their call-centre via travel agents,telephone,web-site etc. Don't let this put you off.The company operates reasonably-priced half-board,self-drive short-break packages which frees you from the coachy / regimented escorted holiday atmosphere. The position of the hotel is situated on the sea front in... more
