A very comfortable, great value hotel. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the service generally is very good. Dining is good with well cooked straight forward food in generous portions. The area is good for walkers and the scenery pleasing

Booked this hotel fairly last minute as needed a weekend away. We were so very happy with the choice. This is a lovely hotel with very relaxed atmosphere and really friendly staff. The evening meal, beer and wine was all very tasty. Nice sofas inside to relax on and lovely view outside to sit and enjoy a drink. Had a... More

Very friendly helpful staff. A great find in Exmoor. Fab location for walking and easy to get to most destinations on Exmoor. A great, well-stocked bar with a very knowledgable barman/proprietor....I even tasted my first Whisky !

Excellent hotel, food, service, staff, food all up to expectation. In a very quiet part of Exmoor, you could even see the Milky Way at night. Booked for 2 nights, stayed for 4 it was so good! We will return.

Outstanding hospitality for our walking group of 8. Nothing was too much trouble even to finding room for our 4 friends who decided to join us for dinner. Having read reviews that said we would be able to ask for help in planning our walks we were well briefed by Andrew and supplied with a map, printed directions and a... More

Excellent location on Exmoor for a walking weekend. Well appointed rooms, good food and helpful, friendly staff. They will suggest and help to plan routes for walking and provide maps and packed lunches if required. Food was freshly prepared, well presented and the inclusive price for dinner, bed and breakfast was very reasonable. Great value for money and a very... More
