I can only apologise for the quality of the cakes on the day you visited us. I have looked into the situation and have made the appropriate changes so that this should not happen again. We understand that making a complaint to the management at the time may not be a route that you would like to take, however we... More

We stayed for one night, as part of a trip to walk the south west coast path. Having arrived tired and grubby, we appreciated the swift bar service and then checked into lovely rooms. Room 8 is to be recommended. Our dinner in the bar (we had dogs) was very good, enjoying the same menu as in the restaurant. The... More

A well appointed hotel perfectly located for exploring coastal Exmoor. Friendly, helpful staff have good knowledge of the area's walks and encouraged us to try one of the more challenging cliff walks, which proved most enjoyable. Can't imagine a better place to stay to get the best out of this magnificent area.

We stumbled upon this 'Swiss cottage' hideaway a couple of years ago and sought it out again. It's worth the trip just to get to it via the Valley of the Rocks, the Toll Road through Lee Abbey estate and onto Woody Bay through the 'hanging trees'. We didn't eat this time as the last time had been rather disappointing... More

Just a quick one to say that we are always welcomed here. Disabled guest and dogs makes no difference to the team here. GREAT choice of ales and drinks. Food is good and the views are spectacular. If in the area its worth finding!

Had a few hours relaxing in the gardens of Hunters inn with a sensible priced meal and drink.the staff were pleasant and helpful. If you like you like walking you have the national trust right next door to explore and also Sandy Bay is very close a very pleasant area. Great for blowing the cobwebs out

The recent warm weather has meant that the glorious countryside that surrounds us can still be appreciated - even into October! Many people such as yourselves are continuing to enjoy sitting out in our gardens and taking walks to and from the hotel. Thank you for your kind words about the Hunters Inn which we do appreciate. The Hunters Inn hosted our wedding reception in September. We couldn't have wished for a more scenic setting for it, The Heddon Valley is spectacular and the gardens at the Inn are a delight. Our reception ran so smoothly, the food was excellent and, in particular, all of the staff were highly efficient. The owner, David and his manager, Annie... More

We stumbled upon The Hunters Inn by chance. After a 4 to 5 mile walk around Heddon Valley (Woody Bay), 'off the beaten track', we began and ended at this Inn. A perfect ending to a challenging climb. Beautiful cuisine, cooked to perfection, pleasant staff though slightly pricey, but Top Michelin star worthy. What better than a really hearty meal... More
