We love Devon and to celebrate our first anniversary we wanted somewhere special to stay. The Old Rectory did not disappoint. Sam and his team were fantastic from the moment we arrived. On our first night we were presented with a bottle of champagne for our anniversary, which we enjoyed on the decking area within the beautiful garden of the... More

We had a great holiday. Sam and Huw were excellent hosts with great service. The rooms were very well presented and very clean. Can not fault the hotel in any way. The conservatory was a lovely place to sit in the evening after dinner.

We were looking for somewhere special to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we found the perfect place. Situated in a quiet location the hotel offered everything we hoped for and more. What a great celebration we spent together, great food, great comfort and great place for walking.

From the moment you are welcomed by either Sam or Hugh, you become totally relaxed. Our Bedroom was furnished to a very high standard, lovely deep FULL length bath, walk in shower. ample wardrobe/hanging space. Our room was very light and spacious. You are served pre dinner canopies, were you have time to meet other guests, nice idea. The dinner... More

The hotel is not too far from the main road, but is in a secluded and very private and quiet spot. The garden is extensive and lovely with a pond and running water. Our bedroom was comfortable with lots of mirrors. Without exception the staff were quietly efficient and each had a friendly very pleasant manner. The whole dinner menu... More

Difficult to fault the Old Rectory Hotel, with its excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, superb location, good rooms, wonderful garden and cosy, relaxing atmosphere. A perfect location for getting away from it all.

We spent two nights at this delightful small hotel. Everything was perfect. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious. Tea and cake in the gorgeous garden was a treat in the afternoon. Appetizers and a cocktail before dinner was very civilized. And dinner itself was wonderful. It was fresh, varied, and delicious. The staff was very friendly.... More

Stayed a night to celebrate my partner's birthday. The Old Rectory is delightful - peaceful, immaculate, tastefully decorated, superb simple cooking using locally sourced ingredients. A birthday cake was presented with afternoon tea in an understated way that really hit the spot. Huw and his team are friendly, helpful yet unobtrusive hosts. We stayed in Heddon Suite which has a... This hotel is a find! Wonderful surroundings, wonderful interior and delightful hosts. The staff are all most helpful and friendly. It is set in a beautifully maintained garden with some lovely sitting areas, where you can either mix with other guests, or simply be on your own and contemplate the peace and history of the area and the lovely 12th...
