My wife and I have just returned from a weekend away, it is situated in the Exmoor Park in North Devon with lovely walks. Huw and Sam are wonderful hosts, informative and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the food was exceptional dinner and breakfast with plenty of variety all sourced from local suppliers. This is a very restful and... more

My husband and I had a very warm welcome at this friendly hotel. It is set in spectacular Exmoor countryside within minutes walk of the scenic North Devon coast. We were lucky enough with the weather to enjoy our complimentary cream tea in the delightful garden where we were entertained by the variety of birds attracted to the many feeders.... more

I took my mother for a short break to Devon earlier this year, and we were lucky enough to stay at The Old Rectory. Huw and Sam are fantastic hosts - nothing is too much trouble, and they are full of good suggestions for day trips. Our twin ensuite room was lovely, with a beautiful view onto the gorgeous garden.... more

Taken over 6 months ago, Huw and Sam are the new brooms.. The gardens have been retrieved from years of neglect and are a haven for birds, with nice lawns. 8 ensuite rooms are gradually being renovated. Great food - cooked by mine hosts. Well worth a short stay. more

The place has an amazing atmosphere, the decor is superb and the food served there is sophisticated and Michelin-star standard. The quiet location and marvelous surroundings make the place the best option for a lovely romantic holiday away from the... more

The hotel is tranquility itself - just what my husband and I needed in order to unwind. It is set in an idyllic garden within an area of stunning natural beauty. The food is fabulous - take elasticated waistbands as there is a plentiful supply - and is mostly locally produced, organic and free range. The accommodation is comfortable and... more

My husband and I had driven several hours from mid Wales on a horribly wet day with the rain teeming down and visability much reduced. However, our spirits rose when, on nearing Martinhoe through stunningly beautiful country, we discovered the hotel nestled by the side of the ancient parish church and were immediately struck by its ambience. This was reinforced... more

The hotel is located is in a very small quiet village close to the cliffs and sea which is ideal for a relaxing break and lots of walking. Our room and all parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean... more
