The location, the atmosphere, the food.... all spot on. If you want a true Exmoor experience do not hesitate to pop into The White Horse Inn. We sat in the bar ,soaked up the atmosphere, had a great lunch (served by a lovely chef) and watched the horsey world go by....for me an early mothers day treat ! We will... More

Just returned from an absolutely wonderful weekend with friends! Great food and atmosphere in the bar Friday night and then staff accommodated us for 'a la carte' on Saturday night with all six tired dogs! Breakfast on both days was delicious and the service by all the staff and the owners was nothing but brilliant! Sadly too full to enjoy... More

Having passed this place many times in the past and thinking it looked fascinating, I decided to drive the family out (an hour's drive) for a carvery as a treat. The pictures online belie the reality. Strip lights in the eating areas, with Bernie Inn carpets and nothing Olde Worldy or anything approaching character. The staff were all very nice... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and we can only apologise for any misunderstanding regarding your children's carvery meals. As you stated, we do operate a policy of using smaller plates for children, but anyone reading this review can rest assured they are not side plates and they are in fact used for all childrens meals,... We were last at the White Horse Inn in the late 80's with our young children and just returned for New Year with friends. Just as we remembered in terms of atmosphere and everything one would wish for in terms of comfort and hospitality. Peter and Linda and a great team work extremely hard in terms of welcoming their guests... More

We are just back from a marvellous Christmas break. We stayed in the Lodge which has excellent Wi-Fi ( my husband needs his Rugby fix) so was able to watch on the i-pad. As always the staff are really welcoming Vince and Mark along with the girls do their very best to accommodate your wishes in the restaurant. We enjoyed... More

To start on a positive note, the room was clean, bed comfortable and staff friendly. However, at the end of the day, this is a pub with rooms. I booked the Honeymoon room as a surprise for my Husband last week to celebrate our anniversary. It certainly did not have the 'wow' factor and lacked several little touches - no... More

This is a good, cosy country inn in a village on Exmoor, not too far from the coast and the moor. Our accommodation was in the old, main building, above the front door facing the main road and river so there was a small amount of traffic noise chiefly from horses being exercised. The room was comfortable, clean and overall... More
