Stayed a night while walking the SW coastpath. The rooms are not en suite. Friendly hosts and good breakfast with home made preserves, bread and eggs from their own chickens. The owners are creative turning 'rubbish into beauty'

Fontenay doesn't tick the conventional boxes - it's a genuine one-off with lots of character, and really outstanding home-produce for breakfast. Mrs Sarah Davey is a well-known local artist, and crafts unusual and interesting artworks from driftwood and reclaimed textiles ("Creating beauty from rubbish" as she puts it). Fontenay B&B is a large family house with two rooms given up for guests. The overall feel is relaxed and friendly. The owners are living a low impact lifestyle with recycling and subsistence key to their ethos. Breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and very fresh eggs gathered the night before from their own hens. We particularly appreciated our warm... More
