We were down in Exmoor on holiday and were recommended a trip to this wonderful pub. It was a beautiful drive across the moors, and some very steep and winding roads, but we eventually found the pub in a secluded village on the banks of a rushing river. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like old friends... More

We travelled over from Lynmouth on a Sunday evening and were extremely lucky to get a table. Beer was excellent with a selection of 3 real ales and the roast dinners (one venison, one turkey) were very good and reasonably priced. Landlord and waiting on staff were welcoming and helpful. We returned later in the week and the food was... More

From first contact to final departure we were looked after very well. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Richard welcomed us and pulled an excellent pint and the rest of the staff then took over. Dinner was excellent followed by watching England beat Fiji in the lounge. The staff could not have been more helpful.

A great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxing break, it does cater for well behaved dogs and not being doggy people we were a bit worried about what the rooms would be like, no problem, the room we had (no 1) was spotless, no doggy smells. The food was wonderful as were the staff. This is... More

We called in on the offchance and saw all of the tables were booked, on asking if there was any chance of eating we were told YES but it would be in the breakfast room (no problem) the meals were exceptional and tasty filling hot . The staff, mum and dad could not have done any more, so much so... More

We decided to treat ourselves for the weekend away even though we don't live to far away. From when we got to the hotel to when we left, we were given fantastic service. Wendy and Richard were extremely friendly, along with the waiting staff. It seemed that nothing was too much for them. This was obvious as on the Saturday... More

Beautiful location and nearby walks along the river. Rather disappointing food though, although they do have a decent selection. Good range of beers. Friendly staff. My advice would be to come here to rest and have a drink, go elsewhere for food.
