I visited the Rockford Inn with a group of friends last night ( Thursday evening is Curry night ) and we were not disappointed.Tasty, plentiful portions in a relaxed atmosphere with non intrusive background music and efficient friendly service (thank you Katherine) ☺We will definitely be back.Highly recommended.

Spent a couple of nights at this pub with another couple for walking holiday at end of January. Our experiences were in line with those of other reviewers: a great location for walking or otherwise seeing N Exmoor, an area we know well; a well run pub at reasonable prices and very good food ( breakfasts and other meals ).... This is our second visit after a gap of several years and the Inn and its welcome are as great as ever. The Rockford Inn ticks so many boxes in terms of good food, excellent beer, first class location and lovely staff. It's a great place to relax away from a busy world and to wake up to the sound... When we stayed at the Rockford Inn a number of years ago, we remember that it was a bit run-down and shabby. We stayed there for one night recently and were very pleasantly surprised to find that the place has been transformed by the current owners. Our B&B booked at short notice through Booking.com was extremely good value. Our room... More

After all the Christmas craziness we went for a Boxing Day walk from Watersmeet to Rockford and stopped at the Rockford Inn. Roaring open fire, cosy atmosphere and welcoming to dirty dogs and muddy boots. We had a pint of local ale each with 2 choosing a ploughman's lunch and 1 choosing a chili jacket. Everything was simple but tasty... More

Had another relaxing time here at the Rockford.. Started with a walk down by the river then back to rest and freshen up for dinner.. Food was lovely yet again. Wasn't very busy but we liked that as we went to just have a quiet relaxing time away.. Waking to the sound of nothing but the river. Breakfast was a... More

Stayed here for one night 02/11/2015. Have popped in for a drink but never stayed previously. Stunning location by the river within easy reach of Watersmeet. On arrival staff were welcoming and friendly and hospitality throughout was second to none. Rooms were of an immaculate standard and very comfortable. Food during the evenings was very reasonable and of high quality,... More

Just a quick review. Stayed in Brendon for a few days, walked to Lynmouth AND back and needed a beer. Found sanctuary at the Rockford Inn. Great pub, great selection of beers, nice beer garden and the staff(a lady, sorry didn't catch your name) were very nice too. Looked at the menu, that looked nice too. Really worth a visit... More

We visited this lovely little pub at lunchtime, having read reviews, one of which said they had enjoyed a perfect steak and chips for lunch. One of us has coeliac disease and therefore is limited on what he can eat. On arrival I asked at the bar what gluten free options they had. We were just handed a menu and... More

We had an excellent stay in this Devon Inn. Staff very welcoming, Good food, Nice room and shower was perfect. Very picturesque location in a woody valley near Lynton and Exmoor. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Rockford Inn for a quiet and comfortable stay.
