We stayed in the cottages across the stream and enjoyed numerous nights of wonderful food (recommend the steak and Stilton pie!!!) and drink accompanied by a classic pub atmosphere and great service. We loved it so much we have booked a room later in the year and look forward to a proper stay there

We ate at the Rockford Inn last night and can only say very positive things about the experience. The food, ambience and service were all of the highest quality. The tranquil setting serves to make the Rockford Inn even more worth a visit. Living only 9 miles from the Inn, means that we will be dining at the Rockford on... More

We booked a weekend at the Rockford inn reading previous reviews. We needed good food and calm both having manic weekday lives! We booked the last room , a small double which was a pleasure to stay in. It was beautifully clean and well equipped. Our welcome, after batling the M5 traffic , was warm and very friendly. We ordered... More

We called here for a light lunch. Staff were very obliging and on offer were Childrens meals along side small meals, just right for us. Beautiful setting. And, such a lovely, charming property. Out of the way but certainly worth a visit to the Hotel and take a walk along this beautiful part of Devon.

We arrived here in glorious sunshine and from the first moment, the place felt very special. It is nestled in the trees against the River Lyn and is simply idyllic. Our room and ensuite were beautifully presented: clean, tidy and very comfortable although there's no opening window or extractor in the bathroom. The pub downstairs was very welcoming, with plenty... More

Had a fab lunch here after a riverside walk along from Watersmeet. The (small) beer garden is situated next to the river, which is idyllic. My husband was impressed with the cask beer on offer and raved about his pint of 'Uncle Sam's' from the Cotleigh brewery. We both had the pub classic of ham, egg and chips and it... More

We stayed at the Rockford Inn for our 25th wedding anniversary for 3 nights. We were greeted on arrival by Caroline who showed us to our room. The room was at the front of the Inn and it was lovely and contained everything we needed and was warm, clean and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was great. We ate... More

The Rockford Inn is idyllically situated beside the banks of the cascading River Lyn. It provides welcoming comfortable accommodation and is full of little touches that seek to make guests happy. Flowers on the dining tables every night, excellent beer, free wifi, clean fluffy towels, top ups for in-room drinks available at all times from a help yourself basket on... More

Thanks to Trip Advisor we booked the Rockford Inn based on the feedback. So glad we did - it was excellent. Very friendly welcome when we arrived and the room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. We had room 5 upstairs overlooking the river. Dinner the first night was so good that we made sure to eat in again !... More

The staff at this place where wonderful, the food was home cooked and amazing and the entire trip was just bliss :) Beautiful scenery definitely take walking boots! Me and my mum have been to this part of Devon before and visited watersmeat but never stayed here before, would definitely recommended and come back!
