We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of july 2014.Our room overlooked some lovely trees and rushing water there was a walk through the woods nearby to Watersmeet and further on to lynmouth. The rooms were tastefully decorated and furnishings were adequate. The ensuite was very compact as was the room as a whole. We ate there on... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at the Rockford Inn for our wedding anniversary at the weekend. We wanted to stay somewhere in a remote location for some peace and quiet and the Rockford exceeded our expectations. The welcome as soon as we arrived was fantastic, I wish I'd got the barmaids name as she was lovely... More

Had lunch here which was nice whilst sitting by river. Dog friendly inn but unfortunately advised can't actually stay at inn with a dog which is a shame but Most other local inns do take dogs so this one good for a meal and drinks.

Very friendly and helpful, offering advice on walks and routes, printing maps out. Excellent pub food. Perfect location with easy access to stunning walks to suit everyone. Clean, comfortable well presented rooms, some with river views. Have stayed for a couple of long weekends in both winter and summer, and will be back!

Great authentic hunter/fishing lodge feel. Hiking trails available right out the front door. Great hikes into the woods and to the ocean. A little difficult to find, but well worth it. We only spent a single night and wished we spent more days. Dinner fare was excellent along with the pub. Hosts were extremely helpful to review our hiking itinerary... More

After two nights of soggy camping nearby, The Rockford Inn was very warm and welcoming. We just stayed one night but had a lovely warm shower as soon as we arrived. The room was very well decorated, neat and tidy. It's position next to the river is idyllic and there are plenty of walks starting from your doorstep. We had... More

After reading a good review for the Rockford Inn in one of the Sunday papers we booked a three night stay at the end of April and were not disappointed. The inn was warm and cosy, our room very comfortable, we had lovely food with good service and nothing seemed too much trouble for Sarah, Cathryn and the team. We... More

We love this real pub, when plastic imitations are the only survivors in many areas of the country. The Rockford has everything, location, comfortable rooms, excellent food, real beer and last but not least two of the best hosts imaginable in Cathryn and Sarah. We also had excellent weather, we walked to Lynmouth by the river, and the coast path... More
