We really wanted to stay here but they were fully booked. The location of the pub is in a tranquil and really beautiful location. The pub is traditional and well maintained inside with lots of interesting bits of bric a brac to look at. Our lunch was sensibly priced, delicious and plentiful! The staff were attentive and friendly ... could... More

The inn is set in a wonderful valley amongst peaceful and tranquil setting. The staff at the in were friendly and welcoming. The facilities were really good value for money and the meals were freshly cooked and delicious with lots of choice. Would recommend this inn to anyone and would stay again.

Stayed at the Rockford for three nights, wish it was longer! The setting is beautiful, very quiet and sits beside a river. The room was very clean and modern, we had a room to the side of the inn, so couldn't see the river. Breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked and plentiful, Catherine is very attentive and offers more... More

My sister and I enjoyed another wonderful weekend stay at the Rockford Inn. Sarah and Catherine were super hosts and we could not have asked for more. As usual the food was excellent, I would definitely recommend the Fish Pie, well actually I would recommend everything on the menu. It was such a good time I have booked another weekend... More

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here at this beautiful location, and the walk alongside the river through the woods to Watersmeet was worth the effort. Although extended since our last visit 50 years ago whilst on honeymoon, it was just as friendly and welcoming. Maybe next time we will get to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of july 2014.Our room overlooked some lovely trees and rushing water there was a walk through the woods nearby to Watersmeet and further on to lynmouth. The rooms were tastefully decorated and furnishings were adequate. The ensuite was very compact as was the room as a whole. We ate there on... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at the Rockford Inn for our wedding anniversary at the weekend. We wanted to stay somewhere in a remote location for some peace and quiet and the Rockford exceeded our expectations. The welcome as soon as we arrived was fantastic, I wish I'd got the barmaids name as she was lovely... More

Had lunch here which was nice whilst sitting by river. Dog friendly inn but unfortunately advised can't actually stay at inn with a dog which is a shame but Most other local inns do take dogs so this one good for a meal and drinks.

Very friendly and helpful, offering advice on walks and routes, printing maps out. Excellent pub food. Perfect location with easy access to stunning walks to suit everyone. Clean, comfortable well presented rooms, some with river views. Have stayed for a couple of long weekends in both winter and summer, and will be back!

Great authentic hunter/fishing lodge feel. Hiking trails available right out the front door. Great hikes into the woods and to the ocean. A little difficult to find, but well worth it. We only spent a single night and wished we spent more days. Dinner fare was excellent along with the pub. Hosts were extremely helpful to review our hiking itinerary... More
