Thank you for a lovely 3night stay, cannot fault anything. Room 2 was absolutely lovely and spacious and fantastic bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, and the evening in the bar with Nikki and friends we made whilst staying was a lovely end to our stay. Nikki and Ian are the most friendly hosts we have met, your B&B is a credit... More

We stayed for one night before moving up the coast for a longer stay at the Warren, but the hospitality we received in that time was fantastic! Nikki is a brilliant hostess, very friendly and very funny - we were made to feel very welcome. The room (Room 11), had everything we needed, and the breakfast was fab. Absolutely no... More

Yes Nikki does enjoy meeting her customers - we are so glad that you enjoyed your short stay with us. Nikki is also especially proud of her Fresh Fruit Salad and makes it every day first thing. The fruits vary a little according to availability but usually include Honeydew Melon, Pineapple, Strawberries and Red Seedless Grapes. It included gooseberries today!... More

Spent 3 nights here. Room 6 was ok, everything you needed but not very big. Nice bathroom. Hosts friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good. Not much choice of eating out in Dawlish, but had two good meals at the Smugglers just up the road. Also ate at Jack Spratts down in Dawlish.

There are plenty of places to eat during the day time in Dawlish itself but as you say far fewer in the evening. We recommend several places for evening meals some of which are within a short walk and others a little further away. If you would like any advice please email us in advance and please do book ahead.... More

Thank you so much for your very kind comments. You are right about the breakfasts a Full English is for the very hungry. We do offer a smaller Full English if requested and there is always the option to "mix and match" any of the items on the menu. We are always very pleased to offer advice on places to... More

Everything about Lyme Bay House was fantastic from start to finish. Ian and Nicci are wonderfully friendly personable people and a joy to meet. Before arrival i received a text requesting my eta, this i thought was a nice touch, and upon arrival was greeted by name, another nice touch. Only stayed one night and the room was extremely comfortable... More

We were a bit put off by the loud decor in our room but the 4 poster bed was quite comfortable . The sea view was stretching it a bit but it was there just about.Everything was supplied but sometimes less is more.Breakfast was ok but would prefer quality not quantity. We were charged for our 1 night stay again... More

The wallpaper in the Four Poster bedroom is in keeping with Nikki's Thai background and her bright and breezy nature. However, the rest of the decor is fairly ordinary with the dark Axminster carpet and traditional wooden-frame bed. You are quite right, sometimes "less is more" and guests that prefer a smaller breakfast only have to say so when ordering.... More

The reception and service were good and the breakfast wasn't bad, but the room itself needed a refresh and the view would have been better if the windows were clean, even then it was basically a rooftop with the sea in the distance. I probably would stay again, but I'd try other places in the area as an alternative beforehand

Yes the windows do get sea-salt on them particularly when the weather has not been so good. As you can imagine, it is quite a job keeping them clean at all times. We are disappointed that you only felt that our "...breakfast wasn't bad...". Most of our guests rate it somewhat better than that. We have taken your comments on... More

Having made our booking for a weekend we were quite excited at the thought of staying at Lyme Bay. We were asked to call an hour before arrival to make sure someone was there to greet us, we thought this was a little strange. When we arrived we were greeted by Nikki who was very friendly and showed us to... More

First of all I am so sorry that I did not get a chance to speak to you. Clearly the towel issue is unacceptable and the damaged one has been disposed of. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Yes our free parking is a bonus particularly here in Dawlish where town centre parking is in very short supply. We usually open the bar from around 9PM (at the latest) and upon request around 5.30 PM for guests to have a "night cap" and if required a drink before eating out. We always have a great time chatting wth... More
