Having stayed several times at this lovely hotel, we stayed overnight recently and enjoyed another stunning meal and breakfast in the restaurant. However, my wife did not sleep well at all as the mattress on her side of the bed was very old (soft and lacking in springs) and she did not have a good night's sleep at all. We... More

Stopped for lunch which we had on a grassy terrace, in the sun. Delightful service, quick and happy! All three had a variation of a sandwich which we were happy with. Would like to go back and stay as the location is fabulous. Unfortunately we were too early for a cream tea, so that gives us an excuse to go... More

Thank you Prince Hall for a lovely afternoon- friendly, welcoming staff and the best Cream Tea for miles around!! Huge scones and plenty of jam and clotted cream, washed down with a cappuccino (for me) and loose leaf Earl Grey (for my friend). Nothing was to much trouble, "if you want more jam or cream, just ask" we were told... More

We stayed the one night in Sherperds Hut, the caravan in the hotel grounds, It was Lovely! good size, FAB comfy bed, very homely , even had cute little dog treats. So relaxing in the hotel lounge with the roaring fire. Beautiful walks minutes away.

Together with a friend we called here for a morning coffee. The furnishings were indicative of being a dog friendly establishment. We asked if there were any pastries or biscuits available and told there was home made cake or shop bought biscuits. We were disappointed that our coffee arrived in tea cups and no refills and the biscuits were as... More

As non- dog people, their ubiquity came as a bit of a shock - although we had been pre-warned. But the hotel was very clean, the room spotless and the staff welcoming. Lack of conditioner in the bathroom was a small whinge from my wife. The bar and lounge were open to dogs but, apart from the first evening when... More

We took up the dinner, bed and breakfast deal for two nights. We were upgraded on the second night. The first room was very nice but the second room was fantastic with incredible views and enormous. The food was really good, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very 'dog friendly' too. You'll certainly get away from it all, it's... More

Stunning location. Very expensive cream tea - £8 for one scone and small pot of jam and cream! Extra cup of tea was £3.50. We asked if we could purchase just one more scone, so that we could have a scone each and were told quite curtly that we would have to pay another £8 for it!! Really disappointed and... More

We love nearby but have always wanted to stay here and we're not disappointed. We set off from home with an overnight back and having had a few poor offers of other places to stay rang Prince Hall. Welcoming receptionist who couldn't do enough to accommodate us, we are vegetarian and she spoke to the chef then and there who... More

The hotel looks beautiful inside and out. There are plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs in the two lounge areas to snuggle up in of an evening. The fire place in the lounge was wonderful and warming after a freezing cold and soaking wet August bank holiday (typical British summertime!). The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The... More
