This was our second relaxing three-night stay at the friendly Prince Hall Hotel. Our room was lovely, light with a comfortable bed, plenty of space and a lovely view of the Moor. The Lounge and Bar areas are very comfortable. The Owners have two friendly dogs and it is a dog-friendly hotel. It is in a quiet area of Dartmoor... More

Having driven past the entrance to the drive to this hotel many, many times, but without visiting, and both of us feeling in need of something to drink, we stopped by, and was impressed by the grand entrance. The drive is tree lined, and the location is superb! No impression can be had of what awaits from the main road... More

Lovely neo boutique hotel, nice food and so dog friendly - better not go if you are not into dogs! The building is pretty, the whole place is small in great grounds and so far off the track, radar and methods of finding it - even though we were already booked - we found it only by accident! Worth persevering.... More

My black labrador and I spent last Saturday night at the Prince Hall Hotel and both of us found it to be a very warm and comfortable hotel. Every staff member was first class and it felt like we'd arrived in their home as opposed to a hotel. The hotel is located in an oil painting which captures the rugged... More

We booked a room exceptionally last minute and were delighted to hear the Shepherd's Hut was available, which has been on our "to do" list for some time. The staff were friendly throughout our stay and the food, in particular the venison, was absolutely beautiful. In a great location for walkers, we were able to take a 4 hour morning... More

Looking for a chilled glass of white wine after a mornings riding we came upon this amazing hotel who welcomed us royally although we looked somewhat dishevelled!! I had already booked there for dinner and returned in the evening looking slightly more respectable and had a great meal-def go there!

Special treat for my birthday - a sumptuous afternoon tea snuggled in the lunch whilst the mist swirled outside. Our rough collie Meg was welcomed and the staff were very friendly. Although not too far from home, would like to stay next time for a couple of days. Tip - full afternoon tea as to be pre-ordered but so worth... More

I am stunned! Having clicked to read the few negative reviews, I just do not recognise the experience that we have just enjoyed so much - three nights of comfort, instant friendship with fellow guests, totally superb food (thank-you Chris), an extensive & excellent wine list, a location and ambience that is unbeatable - and our two Labradors treated with... Just spent a return visit to stay at Prince Hall Hotel. So relaxing, peaceful and quiet. The food was simply top class and innovative and beautifully presented. So enjoyable, shall definitely return. The views from the back of the hotel are spectacular, tranquil. - . A place to chill!

We searched out dog friendly hotels close to walking territory for a trip round the South West. Prince Hall was a real gem with comfortable rooms and very attentive staff. But, best of all the food was tremendous. We were extremely luck with the weather for our day's walk in November and even managed a cream tea outside in the... More
