This really is the first truly dog friendly hotel we've stayed at. The location is great, you drive down a long tree lined driveway to the hotel which sits right on the moor with beautiful uninterrupted views. There's great access for walks and the river passes below the hotel which I understand is available for fishing. You and your dog... More

This was a lovely relaxing one night stay. We were served cream tea and scone (which were huge ) on arrival in a comfy lounge . The staff where very friendly and the service very good. The dinner we had was amazing , with canapé, amuse Bouche, the best risotto I have ever tasted and far better than the Mitchelen... More

We'd walked over the moor and were drenched. We also had a dog. Prince hall is in a remote setting and is beautiful. We were a bit worried we might be a bit scruffy but the owner couldn't have made us more welcome. She made a big fuss of lily (the dog) and settled us by the open fire. We... More

We were looking forward to a traditional Devonshire tea for which we had been given a voucher, as a wedding present. Unfortunately, the post code is not recognised by SatNavs and as there was no mobile service provider it took us a long time to actually locate the hotel. (We left the SatNav co-ordinates with hotel staff for the benefit... More

What a lovely hotel in an area sadly free of lovely hotels. My in laws live in Plymouth and cant always put us up in their home so we have searched for somewhere nice to stay and finally we have found it! The Prince Hall is fabulous and very dog friendly. The rooms and setting are gorgeous with the moor... More

Just popped in one afternoon for a Cream Tea as it looked like it was worth a visit. Stunning location. Very Average Cream Tea. (2 Scones and a pot of tea) nearly £18 I will NOT even consider staying there at those prices

This is a wonderful hotel in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful location. Our room (Haytor) which is the one seen on most of their advertisements was very spacious and we enjoyed two great night's sleep - probably due to the fact that it was pitch black outside and so, so quiet only the faint noise of the River Dart which... Only visited for an afternoon pot of tea, very friendly and loved dogs who were also very welcome. Lovely atmosphere and I am sure it would be a great place to stay and eat. The pot of tea was on the rather expensive side at £7 for 2 people.

We went to visit friends in Devon at the weekend and they booked lunch here. Its in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the most beautiful Dartmoor. Our lunch was fantastic. Great service, fabulous food and really good value for money. We were surprised by the bill and that's saying something these days. Its very dog friendly but we are... More

This was our first and will be our last visit. The Hotel is in a very pleasant and peaceful location but is trying to be something it is not. We had a well prepared two course dinner which was courteously served but was exorbitantly priced. We could have enjoyed a better meal at half the price at the nearby Two... More
