Having spent a couple of nights in Somerset we travelled over Exmoor and Dartmoor to arrive at the Two Bridges Hotel in mid afternoon on Fathers Day. The hotel was very busy but parking wasn't a probe land we were quickly checked in and shown to our room where there was a lovely pack of treats for our Labrador dog... More

Okay so after running from Badgers Holt at Dartmeet we arrived at the Two Bridges to a lovely welcome. Ordered a cream tea and to say it was heavenly is an understatement, beautiful scones light and fluffy, amazing strawberry jam, and plenty of thick clotted cream. The tea was lovely the china just what you would expect, top notch. And... More

We visited twice over the weekend. Our first call was for afternoon tea. Even though we were late (6pm) for tea there was no problem in being served. The scones were a bit odd - cold dry and didn't taste of anything but the portions of jam and cream were huge, (served without a spoon which made life difficult).. It's... More

On behalf of all the team here we were very disappointed to read your review especially as we are usually so popular for our cream teas! We were also disappointed to hear that you didn't like the actual tea variety; it's a local blend (Plymouth) and not the norm. Regarding your comments on breakfast, again we are sorry that you... We have stayed several times in the past and often visited for lunch and never been disappointed. I think there have been some changes within the hotel which has improved things even more. The whole place has amazing character which is enhanced in the winter by the open log fires. Recently we visited for a wine tasting and dining evening... More

Someone recommended this place for cream tea, having not had lunch yet we decided to opt for the afternoon tea at this pretty hotel. We walked over to someone at a desk on the left hand side of the bar who was a little rude and ignored us to the best of her ability until we had said “Excuse me”... More

Thank you for taking the time to write and I hope that overall you enjoyed your visit to Two Bridges. I can only apologise if you felt that you were not warmly received at Reception, we do have one or two new team members and so we will look to doing some further training. It's such a shame, as we... Met by friendly staff at the reception desk and shown to our room (Chagford Suite) which is in a quiet area on the ground floor off off the lounge. The room was large, well furnished, and has a large four poster bed. The adjoining bathroom was huge with shower, Whirlpool bath, toilet and bidet and a good selection of toiletries.... More

It's wonderful, while stopping on the road, to meet people approaching their nineties - driving about in an ancient classic Bentley - who still get excited about sharing and recommending an unrequested special secret. To bask in the warmth of such exuberantly youthful enthusiasm offers hope that such perspective may be one day be possible in our own emerging lives.... More

In December 2014 we spent Christmas and New Year at the Two Bridges Hotel (along with our dog!!) Not having spent that time of the year away from home, we were not sure what to expect. But, the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. We can't think of a single thing that wasn't enjoyable (even the sun shone... More

Having arrived on the only miserable, wet, cold day after two weeks of relative sunshine we were feeling equally miserable. Soon not to be miserable any more! We arrived about 3pm (two adults and our Jack Russel dog). A very warm welcome at the reception for us all! In our 'country room' there was a present of a dog bowl... More
