Had 2 meals on 12 Aug.My wife ordered beef and Stilton pie and half way through left it,I then tried it and found a number of fatty tissue ( or so I thought ) but on checking it was in fact pieces of vein about the thickness of my main artery.I complained and did not receive an apology but was... this place is quite good, but you need to get in the mindset. The campsite is large with clean springy grass, but pick where you go - much of it slopes and some parts got squishy after only a little rain. However there is a solid bank of trees for a windbreak, parking is separate but near enough. The facilities are... More

The Plume of Feathers gets very mixed reviews, and I suspect that is most likely due to the sense of humour of the staff - which you either 'get', or you don't. I found them very funny. I stayed on their campsite with my climbing club for a weekend. Great campsite and brilliant, hot showers (which cost nothing more to... More

I did not stay at the inn but went just for a meal. The rude female behind the bar made me feel unwelcome and unrealistic to expect to place an order for food at two minutes to 9 pm. I did not get a chance to look at the menu or the specials board and so guessed that pie and... More

The warning bell was the 10 mins it took to order food. A 45 minute wait and my husbands arrived- chips were cold carrots leathery. My meal wasn't what I ordered. Another 15 mins passed before mine arrived. Steak cold but well cooked and corn inedible. Really disappointing.

We stayed for a night in the bunkhouse for a night whilst walking. This is a little tired, but perfectly adequate. Electrical sockets are not available in the rooms - I had to leave my phone to charge in the common room. I got the impression this was discouraged. We had a table reserved, which was nice, and the menu... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in Princetown for a few days and decided on this pub for dinner on the first night. Felt like very much a locals pub when we first walked in, but soon realised we were wrong - staff and locals both very friendly and welcoming! We both had pies off the menu, and they were absolutely... More

Have dined here many times and I am never disappointed. Took my son for lunch, I had the pasty chips and salad, a very tasty pasty with lots of steak inside, thoroughly enjoyed it. My son had the bacon, black pudding and stilton salad, with new potatoes, it was very nicely presented. A couple of pints of jail ale and... More
