Great time horse riding across Dartmoor. Nice peaceful place to stay, friendly people & great food. Lovely accommodation with great views, we would highly recommend and will definitely be revisiting :)

I had wonderful weekend with a 2 hour ride each day and I am hoping go back soon. I rode Boy and he was such a sweetheart and has an amazing canter. Everyone there were really friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to ride out on the moors during the summer. x

We had a lovely stay here in May for 3 nights. It's a wonderful big farm steeped in history in a handy location for lots of lovely walks on the moor. We had a nice clean big family room on the top floor which had a view out onto the moor, en suite, TV, tea and coffee facilities and a... More

Sorry about the heating, I would have put it on if you had asked, sometimes it is hot in the rest of the house, but not so good in some rooms, depending on where if anywhere the sun has been.. We do not like out guests to be chilly - or too hot! More

Very hearty reception, typical English breakfast, individual, cosy rooms. The environment is lovely, an old manor, now used as Hotel and stables. Lovely view over the moor. No problem with parking. Reservation recommended (they don't have that many rooms). You can start your hike in the moor directly from the hotel. They are very helpful, recommended a really nice hiking... More

We very much enjoyed our High Tea which we felt was excellent value for money. Lovely selection of cakes and as much tea and coffee as you like. The host was very accommodating. We will definitely return. Would recommend.

We went pony trekking with Tor Royal Stables this morning. It was a wonderful morning. There were myself, my husband, daughter Charlotte (9) and son Dominic (6). We all are complete horse novices! Adele from Tor Royal led Dominic's horse, instilling confidence in all of us. The route was great, Dartmor tracks and moorland, (no roads at all) with staggeringly... More

Literally. Given the colourful history of the farm as a hangout of Edward VIII and Wallace Simpson, it is almost surprising that there is no charge for entry! We stayed for two nights and it was right up our street - really could not recommend it highly enough! We enjoyed the comfort of the recently refurbed room, understated elegance of... More

We stayed for one night in May. The setting is lovely and peaceful and it was really nice to open the window to see ponies grazing out on the lawn! We stayed in one of the rooms on the top level which had a lot of character and was clean and warm. A great coffee, tea and biscuit selection in... More

In the back of beyond this farm house needs a little TLC to make it a more enjoyable visit. I visited it on a wet cool day. The place needed an open fire that was lit as it was cold. The lady which greeted us was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. My advice is don't go there... More

I am sorry that you were unsatisfied, I have had no one else say they felt hungry after the high tea, which is what is says, a high tea, not a main meal, if you had wanted more I would have been happy to have served you more had you said at the time. More

We recently visited the Tor Royal farm for high tea. An amazing farmhouse which has so much charm, the high tea was truly delicious with a lovely selection of finger sandwiches and cakes all home make. The lady who served us was very friendly and gave us all a warm welcome. A delightful place well worth a visit.
