My husband, myself and my mother stayed for three nights in early May. Had dense foggy and cold weather every day on the Moors which was wonderful...made it feel eerie as we would imagine the Moors would feel! Had a plentiful well cooked brekky every day. Justine was a lovely hostess...made us feel welcome and explained all the ins and... More

Stayed here 2 - 4 May 2015. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by the owner Justine and shown to our room, which was on the ground floor with a view of the garden with roaming peacocks. Unfortunately her heating had packed in and the room was a little chilly but we put the fire effect fan... More

Such a lovely house with a great history with magnificent grounds. The perfect place to relax after a hard day. The rooms are truly stunning with great attention to detail and wonderful furniture. The hearty breakfast is not to be missed, then there is the lovely afternoon tea with home made scones and if you have room the evening meals... More

Everything was perfect. Everything. Dartmoor showed itself in all its haunting and unforgiving glory. Tor Royal was the perfect stage for such a spectacular show. It felt like we were in a story. Hope to be back soon.

Cannot recommend Tor Royal highly enough. Justine and her family were wonderful. The Farmhouse just seemed to ramble on forever and was a hit with my wife and I, gran and our two children 12 and 14. Our 12 year old son spent a fair proportion of his stay throwing sticks for the farm dogs and my wife and daughter... More

Just returned from 2 nights at this hidden away treasure. The Tor Royal is a working farm owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, and the B&B is managed by Justine. It's an historic building dating back to the seventeen hundreds and was a bolt hole for Edward and Mrs Simpson. Our room was clean and was decorated in a style... More

This is a listed property, set in the Dartmoor countryside. It has two pub/restaurants within a 10 minute walk. In short, this is a beautiful building, which is set in the rolling hills of Dartmoor. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived, who escorted us to our room, and then left us to our own devices. We stayed... More

thank you for your kind review, I think that by your description you were actually in the Wallace room, I may have upgraded you from Lilly, if I was quiet, but the Lilly room is nice too. I do offer evening meal when pre-booked, but the pub down the road, the Plume of feathers offers a great selection of meals... More

We made a last minute booking at this B+B and were absolutely delighted with what we discovered. Justine was warm and friendly on both email and when we arrived despite the fact we were more than an hour late. The rooms were comfortable, warm and very clean and fresh. My only regret is that we could not spend longer there... More

We have just had afternoon tea at Tor Royal, which must be one of the best kept secrets in Devon. The owner is very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The tea itself was superb, in a great environment that really gives you the feeling of the moor.
