We visited this last weekend, the bar has a good selection of beers, the evening meals were very good indeed. You get a warm welcome from the staff and Shiraz ! Its situated very close to the clapper bridge and loads of walks on the moors. Breakfast was freshly cooked but i thought a little bit on the expensive side... More

Had a lovely meal in the East Dart Inn on Saturday night and our "spirited" children aged 4 & 7 were made to feel very welcome as were we. Lasagne was so tasty and my husband really enjoyed the steak and ale pie with great pastry and "proper" gravy!! Can't comment on the accommodation as we didnt stay there but... More

Many thanks for your review, and we're glad that you felt welcome, as you were. We always treat all customers with the same good level of hospitalilty, and I include children in that, as they are our future customers too! The lasagna was my mum's recipe (she was Italian) and she would be pleased that you enjoyed it. Come and... More

Called into the bar at this hotel whilst spending the day travelling around Dartmoor. We were made welcome and asked if we had booked a table, which we hadn't. This did not seem to be a problem and we were found a table quickly. We decided to have the carvery, it was all freshly cooked, the vegetables were fresh and... More

Very friendly pub, that fortunately also provides excellent food and Bed & Breakfast. We booked in here mainly as a good base while we visited the Widecoombe fair. Found the hosts to be excellent.Good local knowledge in a well run pub, Ideally placed for a Devon holiday access to the moors & all they offer and not to far from... More

Thank you very much for your review, and we're glad that all 3 of you had a lovely stay - and fancy bumping into you at the fair too! Luckily the weather was great. Hope the chickens survived the journey home. It was lovely to meet you all, and we hope that you come back and see us again soon. More

We stayed two nights in this quiet little area of Dartmoor. Paul & Rosie were very welcoming & friendly hosts. The bar/dining room was a relaxing place to end the day with a drink & a warming meal. Lovely breakfasts were served in the breakfast room. A great stay!

Travelled down to Dartmoor from London area for a weekend wedding. Had no idea how remote the area was. Whilst driving along a little lane, stumbled across this lovely little pub. Was relieved to see they did meals. Would have been grateful for anything. To my delight the food was lovely. The staff were warm and friendly. Would have gone... More

After a long day out our party of nineteen stopped off for a couple of overdue pints. We were greeted at the door by Paul and Rosie like long lost brothers and sisters. They have altered the bar area since our last visit and made it much more open and welcoming. The Hunters Best is a superb hoppy ale. It's... More

Stayed here with 3 friends plus 6 month old baby for a weekend mountain biking and thought it was great. V friendly, hospitable owners, good food, pretty good beer, nice bar / restaurant (no IPA though) and reasonable room. Great spot for immediate access onto bridleways and footpaths. Convenient for A30/M5 but peaceful once here.
