We opted for the dinner, bed and breakfast and were very pleased with the deal! All very clean, great location, excellent food - both the evening meal and the grease free breakfast which to my delight served cafetiere coffee, friendly staff... would definitely recommend it to anyone.

A group of four on a lunchtime visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. We have visited here at various times over the last 35 years and of course the inn has undergone various transformations over that period. A lot of energy has been expended recently in developing the smart looking outside paved areas but unfortunately we were left with a... More

We drove up for lunch, after we visited this place last year for the first time. The food was excellent - again! The best beef burgers ever. And the puddings were very yummy also (rhubarb bakewell and sticky toffee pudding). Staff friendly and the pub dog very cute. Hopefully back next year.

Quaint inn in a charming village on the edge of Dartmoor. The room - and the whole inn had bucket loads of character. The room was large and nicely decorated. The service was friendly and professional. All food - I had an evening meal and breakfast was tasty and good value. Would definitely recommend this inn.

Stayed for 3 nights. I think we probably had the smallest room and with the smallest double bed ever. Overall the room looking a bit tired, , however it was serviceable enough. The staff were friendly and my husband enjoyed full english, however no alternative was offered, namely a lighter option such as fruit and yoghurt, it was not until... More

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Lovely food, friendly staff and the refurbished pub looks beautiful. You can then walk down to the river and walk along the path from the bridge (about a mile) to Bovey castle for a drink on the terrace - how civilised!

Recently stayed the night at The Ring of Bells, a beautiful old inn complete with thatched roof! Our room was very large, with a renovated bathroom. The room charge included breakfast which was excellent. We also ate dinner in the Inn, which was also very good. The village is a bit remote, very quite with no cell service and the... More

Very pretty old pub Staff friendly enough Food fine for the price, good but not great. Main problem was room over the bar - very noisy for obvious reasons, not great for an early night after a long day walking

The Sunday lunches here are just the best....wonderfully tasty local meat with a really fabulous choice of vegetables, good roast potatoes, fine Yorkshire pudding...the gravy is superb....the puddings are tempting so...yes you have to and very good they are. The same can be said of the sandwiches, soups, pates cider ales wines and cheese. Infact, since this team have all pulled... More
