Fabulous choice of burgers with a delicious coleslaw on the side, rest of menu looked a great mix of traditional and inventive too. Lovely way to end our holiday in this informal, dog and people friendly pub. Will definitely visit again.

We booked to stay here very last minute and picked it at random from a list on the internet, but what a find! Situated really close to castle drogo, it is in the perfect location for walking on Dartmoor. We were made to feel at home straight away! We stayed in for drinks and dinner and could not have asked... More

I'm undecided about this Inn. Room was large and clean if a little dated. Parking outside the pub will only hold 4 cars and then its a case of chance your luck in the lanes outside ! Not the best if you care about your car, which I do. My room also had its own bathroom but not en-suite, I... More

We are a young couple from Bristol and decided to get away for the weekend to Dartmoor. The pub is beautiful, cosy little thatched building, with a nice garden out the back. We ate in the pub and were very impressed with the food. My partner had steak, which was lovely and I had ham, egg and chips- a pub... More

I have stayed in many, many B&B's, hotels and pubs and this is indeed up there with some of the best. We stayed here for two nights while we researched some of the Dartmoor area for business. The first night we arrived was dreadful, super high winds, flooded roads and lashing relentless rain. We were travelling with our two year... More

We went to The Sandy Park as we used to go all the time about 5 years ago (it used to be the place to go to wine and dine) However it doesn't seem like it now. We sat and drank our drinks pretty much in silence the bar maid didn't even attempt to talk she was too busy on... More

We stayed 3 nights at Sandy Park with the intention of walking the various paths nearby. This we did and walked ourselves very nearly to a standstill! What a delight to return cold and wet and to receive such a warm welcome from the staff at Sandy Park. Mat cooked a great breakfast which saw us through most of the... More

People, food, beer, cider, wine, ambience, room all so close to perfect, difference undetectable. Thoroughly enjoyed the open mic night, musicians came from 20+ miles away, good fun, landlord and George had too short a spot. We already trying to work out when we can get back, hopefully with a bunch of us next time.

Thanks again for looking after us again Matt. Hopefully see you all in Feb... Oh and the locals are one of the reasons you should go...never had a dull evening in the Sandy park. Has to be the only pub in the world where a customer at the bar would offer to walk home to bring in her own cheese... More
