Spent the weekend of 11th and 12th October touring Devon and Cornwall on motorbikes with a pal. On Sunday we started looking for a place to stop for lunch when we got to Bideford and turned south and east heading gently back towards Dartmouth. We paused at a number of places but non appealed. We thought we might find something... More

Stayed here end Sept. Had a great night with comfy bed and no noise. Breakfast was first class. Evening meal was good. Excellent local ales and cider. Will definitely come back and stay longer next time. Plenty to do in the area. Having a private bathroom I.e. not en-suite is not a problem, its just part of the character of... More

This is a welcoming country inn, and very dog friendly. Our en suite room was clean and comfortable and the bar is cosy, the beer is well kept and the food excellent – we ate in the bar and enjoyed conversation with others, but there is a small dining room for more formal eating if preferred. It is evidently well... More

We stayed here as a party of three on a walking holiday. The rooms were clean an spacious and quiet. The evening meals were great (recommend the blue cheese and caramelised burger) and there was a nice selection of real ales. Good breakfast too. Handy for Castle Drogo and the fantastic Teign Gorge.

We booked this via lastminute and weren't sure what to expect, so we were very happy to arrive to a warm welcome, a clean and comfortable room and a delicious meal which was clearly prepared freshly in the kitchen. The thatched inn is historic and picturesque with a lovely beer garden to the rear and is situated on the edge... More

Fabulous choice of burgers with a delicious coleslaw on the side, rest of menu looked a great mix of traditional and inventive too. Lovely way to end our holiday in this informal, dog and people friendly pub. Will definitely visit again.

We booked to stay here very last minute and picked it at random from a list on the internet, but what a find! Situated really close to castle drogo, it is in the perfect location for walking on Dartmoor. We were made to feel at home straight away! We stayed in for drinks and dinner and could not have asked... More

I'm undecided about this Inn. Room was large and clean if a little dated. Parking outside the pub will only hold 4 cars and then its a case of chance your luck in the lanes outside ! Not the best if you care about your car, which I do. My room also had its own bathroom but not en-suite, I... More

We are a young couple from Bristol and decided to get away for the weekend to Dartmoor. The pub is beautiful, cosy little thatched building, with a nice garden out the back. We ate in the pub and were very impressed with the food. My partner had steak, which was lovely and I had ham, egg and chips- a pub... More
