Very welcoming staff when we arrived. Room a little small but well appointed. Evening meal was very good but service a little slow. We were seated in the bar area and priority seemed to be given to clients in the main dining area. Breakfast (continental) good with plenty of choice. Hotel well positioned in the centre of Chagford opposite the... More

This is the second time we have stayed at The Three Crowns. On this occasion we decided to book The Suite. The room was very spacious and well decorated with an enormous bed! The bathroom was equally spacious, although no separate shower - the shower was over the bath. However the lounge area, of The Suite, was very disappointing. The... More

Booked in here on route. Owned by St Austell brewery. Very pleased with the location and the standard of room and staff. It was warm weather so the courtyard area was well used. Dined in the restaurant, chef was trying out some new dishes - very good standard of food for a pub. Breakfast and lunch also good. Well kept... More

My wife and I stayed for one night in August 2014 to meet up with some friends. The hotel has limited parking - we ended up parking in the village car park a very short walk away - £2.70 for all day parking. Hotel itself was well presented - clean and nicely decorated. Check-in was fine and staff were friendly.... More

Me and my family stayed here 31st July to 2nd august I must say the welcome we got was very warming and friendly, and we was asked when we arrived, if we wanted to reserve a table for an Evening meal, so we wouldn't feel disappointed if there was no availability later in the day, we declined at the time... Very clean refurbished bedrooms/bathrooms, well equipped good quality fittings as with rest of hotel. Dinner menu lacked imagination, poor selection, poor quality and presentation. Good breakfasts. Staff social skills very poor from top to bottom. Customer Care training urgently required plus restaurant service training. A little smile and a warm greeting would go a long way.

I had arranged a 50th SURPRIZE BIRTHDAY for my husband, we arrived on the Friday and 4 other couples secretly arrived on the Saturday. The staff were fantastic in helping to ensure all went smoothly in every way. The pictures show a room just off from main eating area which was offered at not extra cost, one of our guests... More

We stayed for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We love Chagford and chose this hotel as it is right in the heart of this picture-perfect village. The restaurants and shops are all an easy stroll from the hotel. The room we had at the back of the hotel was very new and absolutely immaculate. My only criticism was... More

First time visiting Dartmoor. Only spent a night at the hotel but impressions were very good. The staff were all warm and welcoming. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious in a nicely renovated building. The restaurant is lively, serving typical fare and of course some good beer as the hotel is owned by a brewery.... More

Had the opportunity to take high tea at this lovely establishment. We took our tea in the new glass conservatory, the tea was very good and accompanied by a glass of chilled prosecco it was bliss, highly recommended.....Chagford is a charming place
