Amazing food in a wonderful location in the Moors with the Teign river racing through the middle of the spectacular gardens. Staff were so informed, 'did you enjoy your walk Madam' was asked by 2 waiting staff with lovely smiles on their faces. They also made us feel really special without going over the top. The food is like nothing... more

We were disappointed with our stay. The hotel is off the beaten track so once you have arrived on a cold winter's afternoon you are unlikely to want to go out again. We were travelling with 3 teenagers and had already said that we would not be eating in the £95 a head restaurant. We were told that a supper... more

Gidleigh Park manages to pitch together perfectly ambience, cuisine and service - without ever going over the top, often a risk in top-end catering. When we visited (though did not stay) in early October this year, they made a modest wedding anniversay lunch - the set lunch at that - one of the culinary highlights of our lives, one those... more

My husband and I met up with my in-laws at Gidleigh Park for four nights. My in-laws, who prefer two single beds, had a large room out the back with no view. Our room was at the top of the house, facing the lovely surrounding countryside, but was far too small for two adults to share comfortably. Add in our... more

We stayed overnight at Gidleigh. Our room was excellent with a fantastic bathroom with twin tubs. The food was amazing - as good as the Fat Duck at Bray. We will definitely be returning. more

Fantastic, wonderful. We were delighted to be able to stay. We thought we could only visit for afternoon tea - the best I have had in England by the way, but we were able to spend the night. We love arts and crafts style so we were delighted with the decor. The blend of modern luxury and country inn. The... more

The sign halfway along the narrow 1.5-mile driveway leading to Gidleigh Park gives a clue. It reads 'Take Heart' and assures you that this is the right way after all, not another SatNav disaster. It reflects care, and character, and we thought considerable style. First sight of the Hotel's Arts & Crafts-style facade is promising, and crossing the very narrow... more

This has to be one of the best hotel in all of Britain. The setting is on the North Teign river is breathtaking and the hotel is beautiful. Our room overlooked the river and the countryside which was a wonderful view in morning having our coffee. Our room was large and had a beauiful bathroom. The food is outstanding. The... more

This is a perfect getaway retreat. If anyone wants to see how a first class hotel is run then this is a good place to look. The list of highlights is too long to list individually but in any event it's the total package that counts. They have a very extensive park to walk, a challenging putting green together with... more

We stayed in one of the Master rooms called the "Wallabrook" for 3 nights and ate in the Restaurant on two occasions. On one of the evenings we selected the tasting menu at £110 per person but not the wine flight at £85 per person, deciding to select a bottle from the vast wine list instead. We do recommend the... more
