Pleasant pub in centre of Chagford which is a pretty market town on northern edge of Dartmoor. The pub is busy, mainly frequented by the locals. Stayed two nights in January. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good particularly the breakfast, local beers. Bedroom and shower room small but OK and clean and warm. Would stay... More

The rooms are modern and well maintained, the staff is friendly and the breakfast was excellent. A great location on the square. Chagord is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, which means you might have to make a few adjustments during your stay. Restaurants and shops are closed on public holidays but the Pub... More

Stopped in Chagford for lunch, ended up in the Ring O Bells, I'll keep it short, my wife had Pie of the day which was fine and I had pork belly which was more like an over cooked, dry, thick, pork chop. Disappointing. They didn't charge me for my big chop. The pub is nice and cosy and has the... More

A great place to stay. We were able to do two walks on the the North Side of Dartmoor from our base. From the excellent room, food, with a lovely choice of local meat and veg, friendly staff, along with Willow and Fran a wonderful two days.

My husband and I and our two teenage children have just returned from a stay in this fabulous inn. It is perfectly placed right on the lovely square in Chagford, which at this time of year is beautifully lit with Christmas lights. Fran, the owner, could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Our rooms were impeccably clean, with comfy... More

Travelled some distance to come here for lunch and REALLY wanted to like it. We ordered the duck spring rolls and a hot bap with pulled pork and gravy. The rolls were very good; the bap however came with not a drop of gravy, just two fibrous hunks of bread and meat that had all the flavour and allure of... More

We stayed here for one night, with our small dog, they are very dog friendly, and friendly in general. We were upgraded to a better room for free, as it was available. Breakfast was great, good value for money and would stay here again.

Enjoyed the large bedroom, and having a seating area is very useful (& indicates that the room is sizeable!). There's a lot of competition nowadays, what with the lodges etc. the difference here is the personal touch. It was a fab pub by atmosphere on a Friday night. And the food was excellent ( we have eaten many a lunch... More

Great dog friendly pub in a lovely setting. Good value food. Stayed 1 night in a twin room with my dog who was made very welcome. Great breakfast. A tad pricey for the accommodation but overall worth the money.
