Jo and Dave We have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before and stumbled across Mitchelcroft B&B while searching in the web for somewhere to spend our wedding anniversary, somewhere special and wow, this place was Very Special, what a find and where do I start, to tell everyone to make sure this is an absolute MUST to stay,... I can only echo all of the positive comments already made about "Mitchelcroft" by other guests. We foolishly (and slavishly) followed our SATNAV from our previous destination in Cornwall. This took us on an adventurous journey across Dartmoor along ever narrowing tracks but we saw some marvelous wildlife (close encounters of the herd kind), plus the odd intractable tractor. Needless... More

Genuinely the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The pond room is gorgeous and Debbie and Michael are lovely. I cannot recommend Mitchelcroft enough. We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a brilliant stay.

This place is magical - truly - it's in the most idyllic setting you could wish for.. beautiful wild flower meadows and rolling hills down a quite country lane. My husband and I only stayed here one night but in our time there Debbie and Michael looked after us beautifully - going above and beyond to make our stay special.... More

We have seen many hotels and B&Bs in the UK, but nothing can be compared with this B&B. In our opinion, we stayed in a 5* hotel. Debbie and Michael treated us like family and did their best to make us feel like home. Every day we found a freshly baked cake in our room, and when we sat by... More

I am always suspicious of reviews written in superlatives. But in the case of Mitchelcroft, they are totally justified. We spent a lovely 3 days walking in the Dartmoor area. Debbie & Mike are both keen hikers / cyclists and are really helpful in planning your day. There is an honesty bar arrangement in case you fancy an aperitif whilst... More

This was the best B&B we stayed in on our trip, maybe ever. Debbie and Michael treated us like family, great room, scenery. I would only be repeating what other reviews have said more elegantly than me. Be prepared for narrow one lane roads and do not rely solely on your nav/gps system. If we lived in the southern half... Michael and Debbie have got a very special place here. The feeling is of visiting family but with none of the stress. Only the good bits. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. Lovely breakfasts shared with 2 other couples max. Fresh tea and cakes everyday. Gorgeous views and lots to do in the area

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mitchelcroft is set in 5 acres of hayfields and garden and lies within the Dartmoor National Park, nestling in a beautiful patchwork of hillsides on the edge of the moor. Scoriton makes a good base for a longer stay. Wonderful walking either on the coast (a short drive away), the National Trust's Hembury Woods with its wild daffodils, bluebells and river dart at its base, or, of course, Dartmoor is on the doorstep. There is secure bike storage and some wonderful routes over Dartmoor direct from the house if cycling is your interest. A five minute walk from the house takes you to our lovely local pub, The Tradesman's Arms, serving great food every night of the week.Mitchelcroft is close to Holne, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh ... more   less
