We stayed here only one night (unfortunately - everyone in our group of 6 wished it could have been longer) while walking the Two Moors Way. From the moment of our arrival, tired, thirsty and in need of a sit down, we felt very welcome. The owners have maintained a very traditional pub downstairs, while creating modern, well equipped, good... More

Spent two nights here last week. The Chef ‘Jack’ has produced a varied and tasty Menu which was superb and is obviously popular with the locals due to the number of them who chose to eat here. The best Desert ‘Cheese board’ selection ever! Loads of Cheese and Biscuits with a tasty Chutney at such a reasonable price. Really good... More

The Tradesman's Arms is a lovely country pub, specialising in fabulous food which is really popular with locals and visitors from further afield. We ate here on both nights we stayed because the food was so good. Accompanying vegetable dishes were way superior to the norm. Pies huge and so tasty. Now, back to the location. The back of the... What a lovely place. We were here for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. We arrived to find a bottle of bubbly in our room (which I knew about but not the wife!), and that was a really nice touch. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fab, and I must say that... More

Fantastic stay! Staff were friendly and welcoming. The surroundings were breathtaking and the food was scrumptious! Was nice to escape from the city. Relaxing and peacefull. Was a little pricey but we booked last minute. Would defiantly stay again!

What a little gem, we booked very late in the week and the only room left was the "compact" double, but it was adequate for the one night, the television struggled on certain channels but Hey, we were on Dartmore. The showers one of the largest I have ever used. Staff very friendly, Food EXCELLENT both in the evening and... More

My 12 year old daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights in Feb half term. We chose it because it's just up the road from friends we were visiting. I wasn't expecting much but I was really pleasantly surprised. We were in the 'suite' on the top floor which gave us privacy and distance from any pub noise. We... More

Wonderful peaceful location and despite atrocious weather on our first night which resulted in a 40 minute power cut the valentine set menu was superb. We stayed in the top floor suite which was adequate without being spectacular. Could do with some homely touches to give it the excellent rating, the restricted headroom could also be an issue for some.... More

Our family of 5, plus a dog, had an extremely enjoyable 3-night stay at the Tradesman's Arms. The en-suite rooms (numbers 1 and 3) were warm, clean and tidy and we all had very comfortable nights. Scoriton itself is very quiet which is just what we wanted and it takes no time at all to drive onto Dartmoor. We even... More
