What a fabulous place. We eat out around twice a week and can honestly say this was one of the best meals we've had for a very long time. Excellent value, wide choice and exceptional quality. We were staying at a local B & B for a wedding in the area and decided to go here the next day. We... More

Stayed here with 3 friends (all male in our 50's) as we were Mountain Biking on Dartmoor for the weekend (15-18 August 2014). The rooms were all recently decorated and of a very good standard. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The two ales on offer, Jail Ale and IPA were very good and we never had a... More

We (2 adults 2 children) stayed for 3 nights in the family room which is a converted loft. In reality it is a small 2 bedroom suite with ensuite bathroom. The views from the skylight windows over the countryside are amazing and the decor/furniture in this light and very clean place was top notch. The kids had a sofa bed... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed all that the place had to offer! The management were just lovely, as is their new puppy! Mark was very helpful with daily itineraries, places to visit and the best eateries in those areas (like The Rugglestone Inn). The Tradesman's Arms is a warm and friendly place to chat to locals and... More

We stopped here for one night about 2 weeks ago on our way to Cornwall. The room was pleasant and very clean. We ate an excellent and tasty evening meal and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We sat in the garden having a drink, the views were magnificent. We will certainly be back next year.

We stayed here only one night (unfortunately - everyone in our group of 6 wished it could have been longer) while walking the Two Moors Way. From the moment of our arrival, tired, thirsty and in need of a sit down, we felt very welcome. The owners have maintained a very traditional pub downstairs, while creating modern, well equipped, good... More

Spent two nights here last week. The Chef ‘Jack’ has produced a varied and tasty Menu which was superb and is obviously popular with the locals due to the number of them who chose to eat here. The best Desert ‘Cheese board’ selection ever! Loads of Cheese and Biscuits with a tasty Chutney at such a reasonable price. Really good... More

The Tradesman's Arms is a lovely country pub, specialising in fabulous food which is really popular with locals and visitors from further afield. We ate here on both nights we stayed because the food was so good. Accompanying vegetable dishes were way superior to the norm. Pies huge and so tasty. Now, back to the location. The back of the...
