we stayed 2 nights, very comfortable room overlooking the river. Pub/restaurant had great meals good drinks. Staff welcoming and friendly. easy walk to Buckfast Abbey and the Southern Dartmoor Railway. Also a good location to base a hike into the Dartmoor.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. In brief....meat over cooked, mashed sweet potato lumpy and dry, cauliflower cheese was devoid of ANY cheese....shocking NO plumbing for hot water in the mens toilets. Fridge placed on red so if you wanted white it was chilled with an ice cube. Waitresses dressed as goths and no serviettes

We had a very good dinner and bed and breakfast at the Abbey Inn. The hotel rooms and dining room need some modernisation and redecoration, which is in hand. Meanwhile, the food and service is excellent for the modest prices charged. We enjoyed our stay, and the fish and fresh vegetables were particularly good: and the pear crumble too!

Excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, far better than you would expect from the site pictures currently available. Our room looking out onto the River Dart directly below was superb. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the service was extremely good. The rooms are dated but the above made up for this and we rated our visit... More

we stopped at the Abbey inn about 2 weeks ago. The place is in a lovely location and the food at dinner and breakfast was good.. The inn was pleasant and the staff helpful, but the accommodation is a little dated and thebatroom and shower area could do with a good spring clean.

We had a lovely lunch with friends on the outside terrace, before visiting Buckfast Abbey. Very varied menu choice, reasonable prices, lovely food which all arrived together (great as there were 7 of us) and very friendly & welcoming staff.

Another one-night stay, and with the beginnings of a heavy cold, I was grumpy when I arrived...but I got put right very soon. I was greeted by the landlady (she's called Cecilia - but don't sing) who showed me to my room (Dart) which was so overlooking the river it was almost in it.... really super view - especially in... Stayed one night as part of a 3 day nostalgia trip. The setting is beautiful - right alongside the Dart. It was unfortunate that it was raining for a large part of our time there so sitting out was a no no. The room was good and comfortable- on suite shower, tea/coffee making facilities and TV. At £79 for a... More

We stayed here for a 2 night break. We had a lovely big room overlooking the river, the bathroom was small...but really, how long does anyone spend in there? We had two evening meals here, both were lovely, especially the steak and the roast dinner. Breakfasts was cooked to order and really nice, good quality sausages and bacon and freshly... More
