We were visiting Pennywell Farm and wanted somewhere reasonable to stay and The Abbey Inn definitely fitted the bill. All the staff were very welcoming and the food, evening and breakfast was excellent, couldn't fault it. We stayed in the Dipper room overlooking the river and as others have mentioned it is a bit dated but although it was a... More

Stayed for one night and for me, it was perfect: the room was simple and really cosy, the staff was really nice and the view from the room was really nice. The food there is also really good. I really recomend staying there.

I have stayed here twice in the last three months and each time have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Here is a warm, comfortable Inn with a welcoming atmosphere, clean attractive bedrooms most of which overlook the rumbling river. A warm fire and a good ale not to mention the tasty snacks promptly prepared and presented. The breakfast is delicious and... More

Popped in for Sunday lunch. In brief....meat over cooked, mashed sweet potato lumpy and dry, cauliflower cheese was devoid of ANY cheese....shocking NO plumbing for hot water in the mens toilets. Fridge placed on red so if you wanted white it was chilled with an ice cube. Waitresses dressed as goths and no serviettes

We had a very good dinner and bed and breakfast at the Abbey Inn. The hotel rooms and dining room need some modernisation and redecoration, which is in hand. Meanwhile, the food and service is excellent for the modest prices charged. We enjoyed our stay, and the fish and fresh vegetables were particularly good: and the pear crumble too!

Excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, far better than you would expect from the site pictures currently available. Our room looking out onto the River Dart directly below was superb. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the service was extremely good. The rooms are dated but the above made up for this and we rated our visit... More

we stopped at the Abbey inn about 2 weeks ago. The place is in a lovely location and the food at dinner and breakfast was good.. The inn was pleasant and the staff helpful, but the accommodation is a little dated and thebatroom and shower area could do with a good spring clean.

We had a lovely lunch with friends on the outside terrace, before visiting Buckfast Abbey. Very varied menu choice, reasonable prices, lovely food which all arrived together (great as there were 7 of us) and very friendly & welcoming staff.
